Hotel l'Approdo

We stayed at this hotel from 4th to 11th June. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. There is a comment lower down regarding room 308. We had this room and we agreed with everything this gentleman said almost. The air conditioning the lighting in the bedroom inadequate, the key card to get in, water, tea coffee the kettle placed directly under the TV, the lighting in the bathroom the shower we had to put a towel on the floor even my husband also cut himself shaving. We didn't pay for a lake view but our room faced the main road and as the air conditioning did not work we opened the bathroom window to get some air over night but it was so noisy. We also looked out over the roof of the restaurant and the chimney from the kitchen put out awful cooking smells as well. We couldn't sit on the balcony as it was too noisy. We were also overcharged on the drinks bill as were more in our group. As for the barman he was arrogant and the dining room head waiter did not understand a word of English. Other things the taxi the London Heathrow Hotel flights tour guide trips out buses were organised excellently just the hotel. Titan have let themselves down using this hotel.

We spent 3 night at this resort. Our room 207 faced the lake but the view was obstructed by a massive tree. The room is of a decent size and the bed quite large and comfortable. However the bathroom definitely needs updating. The shower is small and has a very slippery floor. Poor lighting and we arrived no toilet paper. The spare toilet paper roll is hidden underneath the sink. The food at the Restaurant is good but the service is poor. We ordered some pre dinner drinks and after about 20 minutes my husband went to look for our drinks. They were ready at the bar and no waiter in sight. The staff is also not clearing up tables once you have finished with one course. Our pre dinner drinks were still on the table when we had coffee!!!! The hotel has ramps inside and wheelchair accessible toilets. But there are no parking spots for disabled customers. All in all - for us no return.

We stayed in this hotel for a week and we spent a really pleasant period. The staff was very kind and helpful, good food was served every night, just one evening we had to wait a little longer. Breakfast served in a room right in front of the swimming pool was rich and with a lot of choice. The room is simple but clean and spacious, I just suggest to book a lake side room if you want to enjoy the stunning view. The village is small and the weather was bad, so without a car in this case you do not have a lot to do…

Disappointed with Titan and this hotel. Shower dirty, lots of black mould. Complained and some of it was removed. Safe wouldn’t open Meals very poor, and a long wait. Waiters were surly. Such a shame as hotel is in a beautiful setting. Titan, I think you have seen the last of our custom.

I went as part of the Saga/titan group. This hotel clearly cannot cope with such large groups. The dining service was incredibly slow. The menu choice for the evening meal had to be chosen when we went in for breakfast and this was very limited. The waiting staff with the exception of a few of the younger ones were incredibly surly and in some cases rude. Our room was ok but there was mould in the bathroom and a rotten musty smell. This hotel clearly needs a total renovation and there is no way it is 4 star. It's only redeeming feature is the situation it is in which is very beautiful

We recently stayed at this hotel on a Titan/Saga holiday. Heather was a good rep and all the Italian road transport and boat trips were very good. However, it would have been helpful to have a daily information sheet listing times and meeting places for all events. These could have been posted on a hotel notice board or better still delivered to each room or at supper as there was much confusion and Chinese whispers amongst guests. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Hotel L'Approdo. It is certainly not up to 4-star status and we would not stay there again. Our room 308 had air conditioning fixed throughout our stay at 27/28 degrees centigrade which made sleeping very difficult and nothing was done to rectify this despite many complaints to reception and the hotel manager. Other problems with the room was that the key card did not work on many occasions necessitating frequent trips down to reception. Fortunately, we were given a metal key half way through the holiday which did work. The room was dangerously poorly lit with all lights on. It was very hard to read and dangerous to use the kettle which was in the darkest part of the room. The shower was so dangerous that we only used it once. It was highly slippery especially when using soap and there were no grab handles. The cover to the shower drain was also a trip hazard. One could easily have fallen and broken some bones. There was no bath. More minor irritations were that the tea, coffee etc packs were seldom restocked but fortunately we had brought our own together with a torch which was invaluable for finding things and pouring boiling water safely. The lighting in the bathroom was very poor and I didn't shave for the last two days as one of the lights had failed and I cut myself badly. On the subject of Health and Safety, there should be a handrail connecting the room opposite reception to the garden as many elderly people found this difficult. The concrete surround of the swimming pool had at least one dangerous crack on the side nearest to the hotel which could have caused tripping and injury. There were no depth markings making diving hazardous The service by staff was generally poor and the senior waiting staff were brusque and set a poor example to the young ones who tried their best. The food was particularly disappointing. Hot food was invariably at breakfast and dinner was served on cold plates. Carrots and potatoes were hard - being half cooked. Some items were inedible. My partner is a fishetarian and when I saw the menu for the Piedmont Dinner I realised that most courses were meat. I went to reception and they assured me that vegetarian alternatives would be served. They were not. What turned up was very late and very poor quality and a vegetable burger which I sampled was inedible so my partner had very little to eat. We were pleased to leave the room as the meal had been bad and was compounded by a male guitarist with an amplifier which made conversation imposs
