Hotel Petersburg, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

My family stayed at the Hotel Petersburg on our way down to Florida. The suite was perfect for my family of 6. We had ample space to sleep and spread out in the king room, double queen room, and adjoining sitting area with a pull out sofa. We had dinner in Shirley's (the short rib and salmon are incredible) and we all enjoyed the coconut cake. The upstairs bar has a comfortable, historic feel, while the Boiler Room is a speakeasy style bar with a great vibe - both great spots to hang out without leaving the property. We are looking forward to visiting when the rooftop bar is open in the spring. The views of the city are incredible! I often travel to Petersburg on business and have stayed in other local hotels, this one is by far a better experience - it's historic, charming and the staff are very pleasant. The hotel GM went out of his way to make our stay memorable.

I arrived earlier to eat and was informed that the restaurant closes at 2 PM and reopens at 5 PM. When I returned at 5 PM, I was told I needed a reservation—something no one mentioned during my earlier visit. To make matters worse, the dining area was completely empty, but I was still unable to dine. The lack of clear communication was frustrating and disappointing. If reservations are required, this should be made clear to customers beforehand. In addition the hostess and bartender were extremely rude.

I did not stay overnight however I did visit the bar and restaurant. It’s simply beautiful! The staff was amazing and engaged. Everyone from the valet, Chad who parked the car to the server and bartender! I’m excited to visit again and recommend to my family when they visit!
