Firstly, when we arrived we tried to access the main reception door after the third time of pressing the open button we then saw a small sign to the right of another door about calling on the intercom. The person we spoke with over the intercom we found rude & impatient. We gained access to the building, picked up our key from the unmanned reception desk and went through to our room (your room welcome book states the reception is manned). We do understand this may be more of a personal preference when arriving somewhere, but we had expectations that we would of been greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. As we opened the room door we felt the cold air instantly hit us, considering there was an horrific storm happening outside, my partner checked that the windows hadn’t been left open. He went turn the radiator up but this still did not work. He went to the air con unit which had a heating setting on it, so after 5 minutes of trying to work out how to use it he decided to leave it on the settings chosen and hope that the room would be warm on our return from our evening out. So, what is better than a cup of tea to warm you up? As I have opened the bin to throw the teabag… well it was still full!! This shocked me!! There was paper bags and tin foil trays as well as other rubbish filled to the top. This had me questioning where else is still dirty? Not to my surprise but the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied either, with used sanitary products in there. By this time we had been within the room for a total of 20 minutes and I was rather upset after having booked this suite months prior, my partner tried calling on the intercom in the reception area 3 times and it only replied asking to leave a voicemail message. At this point we knew that we would not be able to stay and have a good experience within your facility. What was meant to be an enjoyable evening away, as our belated valentines gift. We are both left very frustrated and upset with the lack of service and cleanliness. After reading such highly rated reviews online, we was both excited to spend time within your facility. I also found the room we had been given was small & did not look like the photos on the website, I would have much rather paid less & booked into a larger travelodge. (Atleast we would of known what to expect). Unfortunately, we will not be recommending you further and do not plan to use your rooms in future when visiting Peterborough. We hope you are able to rectify these issues for future customers you may have, as if this is your standard of one of your Deluxe suites then I am glad I upgraded from one of you standard suites.
