Roundhouse Motel

The Roundhouse Motel in Peterborough is a good place to stay when visiting this nice SA town with its famous rail history. Our room was spacious and clean with good facilities and parking at the door. The restaurant was undergoing work so there was no on-site dining but it was only a short drive to the town centre with hotels and pizza plentiful. Likewise no breakfast but we could easily eat downtown. It is only a short drive to the rail museum. We had a most comfortable night and would recommend the Roundhouse Motel.

Havent stayed here for a while so this focuses on the restaurant. Simple menu, but three well prepared and presented meals. absolutely fantastic chips, my Schnitzel was made up of three generous pieces. also spot on. service was polite and friendly. paid a yad more than at a pub, but certainly got good value

Basic motel, quiet location off the main road & nice pool area. Room was OK - great shower, toaster, kettle, microwave & fridge. Large trolleys of dirty linen everywhere, particularly outside rooms & in the walkway from reception was a downside & really did make one question the hygiene standards. They looked like they’d been there for some time

Dinner in the restaurant on Monday night was awesome. It was a steak with garlic prawn sauce and very nicely presented and the taste was delicious. The wait staff were exceptional. My darling and I stayed in the spa room Tuesday night and the manager Kate went above and beyond to fulfil my request with flowers, cheese platter and bubbly when we got there. She knew how much I am into my lady and sprinkled rose and flower petals on the bed. It was presented better than I had expected.

Friendly staff, room & bathroom was a little dated but clean & comfortable, it was a quiet area and we were able to park undercover. We had dinner at the restaurant which was great and ordered hot breakfast which was fine. Not sure what is going on in carpark as it was all dug up so it was a bit dusty.

Rooms in U shape around a large central parking area so less noisy than most. A paved path makes moving suitcases less cumbersome - rest of area is gravel. Dining room is near reception area. Room was spacious with double bed, sofa and TV, had electric blanket on bed, a fridge, cupboard and tea/coffee making supplies. A basic room, somewhat aging but functional and more than enough for a one night stay. Just outside of the town so quiet and less traffic. Breakfast and dinner was great - good selection for breakfast and a well cooked and generous main meal. You choose the main meal and then select from buffet the vegetables and side dishes. Comfortable stay. Thank you.
