Residenza il Punto

Information on this hotel stated that it is 0.6 miles into Perugia and the receptionist advised it was a 10 minute walk. The walk entailed walking down a very busy dangerous road, through a wooded area on an unmade path, up and down a few alleyways which brought us to the worst part of Perugia. Being in our late 70’s this proved a nightmare. After a long journey we were looking forward to coffee only to be told there is no coffee, only tea and no milk. Explained to the receptionist on booking that we needed a ground floor room because of our walking difficulties (all rooms are on the ground floor) she omitted to tell us that the breakfast room was down 2 flights of stairs. There is no restaurant or bar at this hotel or the surrounding area. If you wanted a morning/afternoon coffee or a lunch time meal there is nothing, only bottled water in the fridge. So it was quite expensive to taxi into town for lunch and dinner. There is a terrace where you can have breakfast but it is dirty and overgrown with weeds. We checked out 3 days early and came home. No bathrobes.

Beautiful place and very helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent. We wish we could have stayed longer. It is some distance from the centre however we can highly recommended it especially in the summer. Lovely garden and view from the terrace.

Residenza il Punto is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Serene, beautiful, clean, and staff are really good at taking care of visitors. Beautiful visit to a beautiful place in Italy’s Umbria, Perugia. Highly recommend this hotel.

We needed a comfortable place to spend a night en route from Firenze to Gubbio. We found Il Punto online and we’re very glad we did. The location is superb - easy to get to, with fabulous views across the valley, and a short walk from the upper levels of Perugia’s Centro Storico, allowing gentle meanders down to the main piazzas and back up again(or, if you’re lazy like us, a short cab ride). Check in and out was fun and made more so by staff fluent in not just Italian and English, but also French and Arabic. The rooms are large, beautifully furnished and all had terraces with impossibly lovely views across the valley. Breakfast was delicious we left very sad to be going and wishing we could stay another night. One to return to. You won’t find better or better value lodgings in Perugia.

We loved our stay at Residenza il Punto. Great location with an enjoyable walk into the old town. Fantastic views. Clean and modern facilities. Patrizia was an attentive host. Potential for 6 stars if a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities were added.

We decided to stay at Residenza il Punto for our wedding anniversary. We just loved it !! Signora Patrizia was very welcoming and gave us a lovely benvenuti by preparing our apartment with nice decorations !!! Apart from that, we had lovely views over the valle each morning.
