We booked this gem of a place on the Internet. Our room was a corner room with a spectacular view of Lake Orta. The room was very nice and stylish the bed comfortable, the balcony warp around big. As in a typical Italian place, the bedding was not up to standard. A woolen blanket wrapped in a bedsheet is not the standard today. The bathroom was small but stylish. The shower tiny. If you are slightly heavy set and not slim, but I do not mean fat or obese, it is virtually impossible to shower in this tiny shower cabin. Both room and bathroom were very clean and take care of daily. The breakfast, was, but not really excellent. Per person, one croissant and the same type of bread every day and a few biscuits and crackers do not constitute a bread variety. Jams ok and honey as well yogurt superb and cereal also. Every day a platter of ham and thinly sliced cheese? One day, the ham was replaced by Salami. Really???? Italy the land of cold cuts and cheese and this very restricted choice and quality makes breakfast along with the missing bread type a poor experience. How about some boiled eggs? Or freshly baked cakes, as this is normal in Italy. The food in the hotel restaurant is delicious and everyone stays there should try it. It is a family run hotel and service was warm and friendly and if business levels are not too high in the evening excellent attention and service. Some helpful tips for the owners maybe: Please respect classical service standards. Remove not necessary glasses from the table to create more space. At the breakfast room, please clear and clean the tables as the customers leave. Your habit of leaving these tables soiled with dirty dishes ruins the ambience, and it is not professional. These points are made to help you improve, not to nag. With a bit more care your hotel could be world class. Now it is only nice.
