One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka, we had a early check-in the staff was so friendly and nice was totally accommodating to any request so willingly Genuine customer service with a heart! For sure there is something unique with the management here in training staff etc which reflects in their great service Also unexpectedly we got a free room upgrade and also a beach romantic dinner which was surprising, seems like that they take good care and attention to each and every guest The meals were very good filling and yummy The location, picture perfect The whole experience was outstanding Since we travel a lot in Sri Lanka and stay in many many hotels this was undoubtedly a great experience which was unique then many hotels

A great, new beach hotel where you can relax right by the ocean. The territory of the hotel is not very big, but generally well planned and kept nice, tidy and blooming. Itš a vey pleasant and relaxing feeling to be there. The hotel has 36 rooms, but during our stay there were very few guests, which very pleasantly coincided with our expectations for a quiet and peaceful vacation right by the beach. This was only occasionally disturbed by some hotel guests from Russia with their characteristic loud behaviour and disregard for the presence of others. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, with everything you need for your stay. There was enough space to arrange your things. The rooms are really spacious, with a very huge, comfortable bathroom, which is partly under the open sky. The room had good air conditioning. Bed was big, pillows and mattress were very good and comfortable. Our room was at ground level and it was nice to spend time in the shade, on the spacious terrace. We recommend not leaving anything edible or valuable on the terrace, because every now and then a gang of monkeys comes from the jungle and will gladly pick up or throw away everything that is not tied up. Also during breakfast you will be watched carefully not only by waiters to fulfil your every wish, but also by 5-7 crows, who are just waiting for you to get up from the table and leave your food unattended. Fortunately, they are not as intrusive as sparrows and patiently and attentively wait their turn to occupy your table. The a la carte breakfast was delicious, with various good, tasty choices. The dinner menu looked quite pricy with comparison to not vey big portions and we went to eat outside hotel twice because here you can have giant fresh lobster for the price of hotel's salad. The hotel has delicious espresso and also a very large wine collection, which we did not try, because the hot climate did not invite us to drink any alcohol. The pool is beautifully designed, large, comfortable, with pleasantly cool water, which is very refreshing in the hot climate. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool. The minus is that the pool is not shaded at any time of the day. The beach is clean and wide, but immediately behind the hotel a more gloomy reality with a littered beach began. Swimming in the ocean directly opposite the hotel is problematic, because there is a coral reef around the peninsula on which the hotel is located. On the one hand, this is positive, because there are no big waves, but on the other hand, it is actually too shallow to swim there and you need coral slippers, because there are pieces of coral under your feet, which are unpleasant to step on. Slippers according to your size will be given to you at the hotel pool. If you want to swim directly in the ocean, then you have to walk 10 minutes along the beach, to the place where the coral reef ends and swim there. This is a perfect balance between a boutique hotel and a large five star property. There are no hotel type blocks with many rooms in a row (we had first booked Uga Bay, the top rated hotel in the area, but changed as Uga Bay has four rooms in a block, while Sun Siyam is just one on a floor, in a two floor villa). The pool is well maintained and a coral ridge creates a large shallow area of the sea where water doesn't go above waist high (you can check this in Google satellite view). Two minor cribs: 1. Breakfast was too repetitive, though once I pointed it out, they fixed it for the third day we were there 2. They are too nice to some guests who are not playing by the rules - a couple in the pool was smoking by the edge of the pool, and staff were unwilling to request them to stop.

Nice clean quiet hotel with beautiful views of nature and beachside pool and clean private beach and small gym. The rooms (villas) are big specious and clean with many toiletries and bath towels and coffee and tea etc. there is plenty of walking space within the hotel to enjoy a nature trail type walk with surrounding trees. Also the buffet breakfast and dinner is reasonable with reasonable selection of food on offer. Finally the staff are really helpful and friendly and always there to help. Had a great stay and made my holiday to SL enjoyable with typical Sri Lankan hospitality.

Was returning from a well awaited family outing from Batticaloa when Upul Kumara (Group Sustainable Mgr) and Rashed (GM) invited us to drop by and take a look around the hotel. We were mesmerized to see such an awesome hotel at the shores of Pasikudah. What makes Sun Siyam standout from the other Beach Hotels is the fact that it brings the calm and tranquility of nature to the door step of the sea. The carefully planned tree cover with the hotel attracts many birds giving it such a beautiful atmosphere. The food is excellent and everyone enjoyed the buffet. The feel that you get from the lava tiled swimming pool floor is amazing and it was difficult to get the kids out. The boat ride to the nearby coral reef was so entertaining as the kids got to see the vivid fish and experience the sealife. The night walk and the experience at the floating deck at the seafront was out of this world. We are so grateful and thankful for the amazing hospitality extended by the staff during our stay. We can't wait to head back to this amazing hotel.

An excellent place to make your time with your families and friends while enjoying the luxurious hospitality.you can enjoy your time with this nice environment and these nice villas. Actually those villas are mind blowing. Pool area, karaoke room, the bar are some of my favourite sections here. Finally this destination is a verry good place to make your memories.
