My girlfriend and I stayed at Maryo Village for six days. The resort is charming, and the room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately, we had almost no hot water for the entire duration of our trip. We complained on Tuesday night when we realized we only had cool to lukewarm water late at night. I sent a message to the resort via Booking and got a call shortly later telling us that the water heater “turned off,” and they turned it back on. Minutes later, we had hot water. The next night around 11:15 pm, I decided to shower when we returned from a night out, and after running the hot water for about 10 minutes (to get hot water through the pipes), we still didn’t have any hot water. I sent another message asking for a different room, and we were told no others were available. The receptionist called me and wouldn’t let me speak! Whenever I told her we didn’t have hot water, she deliberately spoke over me and said it was fine. IT WASN'T. I was outraged! She acted as if I was some child that needed to be coddled. They also never stopped by the room to verify my complaint. We had a thermometer and video of my hand under the sink (turned the handle to hot). I would have severely burned my skin if it had been hot. Nope, it was cold. Then again, the following night at 2 AM, we had lukewarm water. This means that everyone didn’t take a shower at the same time in all the rooms, which would have drained the tank, which we initially thought happened. We gave up. For the next two days of my stay, my girlfriend and I had to take a shower together, and each time ran out of hot water in minutes. We couldn’t shave, I tried and got cuts and razor burn on my face, and she also did on her legs cause the water was cold. We had to turn off the water to lather ourselves with soap and then turn it back on to wash the soap off. It was absolutely ridiculous. In my opinion, they either have a broken water heater and won’t admit it (why would it turn off?), they turn down the temperature to save money (why always at night was it cold?), or something shady was going on. WE NEVER HAD MORE THAN 5 MINUTES OF HOT WATER. One of the nights, I tried waiting 30 minutes after my girlfriend finished showering, and it was still cold. So for the remaining last two nights, we ended up showering at a friend's Airbnb instead. We had boiling water for six people at the Airbnb! For 700 Euros at Maryo Village, it was appalling and embarrassing that we had to ask other people staying at another location to shower. No apologies. NOTHING. 2 stars for a decent breakfast, and the two hosts/assistants were great and helpful. I do not recommend staying here. It’s a risk!
