Candlewood Suites Annapolis

The room we had was almost at the end of the hallway, which meant we had to walk a distance to our room. Having a broken leg, well that wasn't the best first impression. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest, the bathtub was dirty. There was dirt in and on it, looked like no one had cleaned it in a long time. The roach in the middle of the night on the counter wasn't something I wanted to see ever! I killed it with a towel and left it for housekeeping to find. Hopefully they saw it and took it for cleaning and the next guest didn't get to find it. The kitchen was old, very old in that the cabinets were peeling and no dishes or pots/pans, silverware, nothing if you wanted to use the kitchen. Oh except for the fridge, it actually worked, not that I would have put anything into it. We were only in town for one night for a 70th birthday party, and paid $150+ and would have driven home after it had I known the way this hotel rented its rooms. Upon leaving, there was coffee, but as far as breakfast, there were only 3 nut bars left and only 1 selection of oatmeal (thank goodness we like that type), We ended up eating at the Cheesecake Factory for breakfast. I will stick to an IHG Hotel in the future. Never been disappointed with any of their hotels, and they always have a decent breakfast to offer their guests.

The place is clean, if a little tired, and has a regular apartment-size refrigerator, cooktop, microwave and sink in the mini kitchen area. The bed was good. Checking in with a pet was simple. There is a $25/night fee but no security deposit like some other places. A grassy area, and bags!, are provided for dog walking. There is a mini breakfast Grab 'n Go set up in the lobby.

Dealing with extended stay I have had a great experience with them the staff is excellent very nice and helpful the make you feel welcome I wouldn't want to go to another hotel when I come to visit my room was very clean and smelled good

My family and I reserved a room here for a family wedding taking place in the area. Upon arrival at the hotel, we noticed the check-in counter area and the elevator were dirty and looked like they had not been swept/vacuumed in days. When we got to our room there was an overwhelming stench like old stale cigarettes. The counter in the bathroom was stained and damaged and there was only one half-empty roll of toilet paper with no extras on hand. Having severe asthma, within about 30 minutes of being at the hotel I began to experience shortness of breath due to lingering cigarette odors. When we left the hotel to get dinner we heard people fighting in the lobby, threatening to have people "locked up". Between the health issues I was having and feeling unsafe there with our two children, we promptly decided to check out of the hotel. This hotel needs a complete renovation to rid itself of the years of cigarette odors, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

For the price we paid, we expected much better. The hotel is dated and needs many repairs and upgrades. The smell we encountered from when we stepped into the elevator permeated the entire building and was somewhere between food gone wrong and dirty laundry. Our room had issues if it's own. The carpets were gummy and three light fixtures didn't work and one that did had no switch, having to unplug it to shut it off. There were no sheer curtains behind the blackout curtains so it was either full exposure or pitch black. The plug in the bathroom didn't work and the hair dryer was missing. The AC unit had a very musty smell and difficulty maintaining temperature. The room was however clean to the abilities of the staff. They were pleasant and helpful. Wouldn't stay here again and we were frustrated that there was a brand new Extended Stay literally around the corner. We've stayed several times at Extended Stays around the Country and this will definitely change our plans in the future.

Rooms were dirty, smell and very out of date. Counter tops were stained and dirty. Bathroom faucet fell of when try to wash hands. Just a terrible stay. Rooms are also yellowed like someone was smoking in here for some time. The bed was more of a murphy bed then a real bed.
