Hôtel Jacques de Molay - Fitness & Sauna

This was a one night stay before we flew home at the end of our holidays . The room was a decent size with three windows , three balconies you could glimpse the Eiffel Tower which was a bonus . Bed was comfortable with good linen and pillows but the carpet was damp near the bathroom ( remained damp ) which gave the room an unpleasant smell when you opened the door . AC good which you would need in the summer . Plenty of restaurants very close by and a small supermarket too. There are so many hotels in Paris don't think we will return to this one next visit . Don't order taxi through reception as although we were specifically told it was a fixed price we had an argument with taxi driver at the airport as he had his meter running and it exceeded fixed price by 30 euros . Luckily we sorted it out but didn't need that stress .

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in June. The main attraction was the location, as the Marais is our favourite area in Paris. The location was indeed excellent. There are countless cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, food shops etc on your doorstep (notably on Rue de Bretagne). Plus the Marais is great because it does not feel overly touristy, and has more of a local Parisian feel. This hotel is also well located for transport, being close to a number of metro stations (Republique being most useful). We could get anywhere in Paris without much trouble. At the same time, the hotel is quiet, we were not disturbed by noise at all. The hotel itself is small and charming. The hotel is staffed at all times, which makes it feel very comfortable and safe, and the staff were always friendly, pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the superior room. We actually thought it would be smaller. Compared to our previous hotel rooms in big cities, the room was decent in size, and we didn’t feel too cramped at all. The room was always kept clean, and we appreciated the desk space, hanging space and bathroom space. However, there is no doubt that the room is expensive for what it is. I guess that is just Paris prices. We also used the hotel gym, which is very small with limited equipment but was sufficient and appreciated in a city where few hotels have gyms. Interestingly, the gym has a personal trainer so sometimes it can get busy with people training. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as there are plenty of breakfast options close by to the hotel. We would consider returning to the Hotel Jacques de Molay on our next visit to Paris.

Just returned from a three day trip to Paris with my teenage daughter. After a lot of research I thought this hotel was perfect for us. We wanted to stay somewhere small and cozy and in a great location in Le Marais, this hotel sure ticked all the boxes. After a long day travelling we where made to feel so welcome by Emmanuel on the desk who straight away offered us both a drink and nothing was to much trouble, he gave us lots of tips on getting around Paris, we felt at ease and knew we had chosen the right hotel. It was on a beautiful road and near lots of lovely places to eat. Our room 503 had a great view from the window, it was cleaned every day, was spotless, tastefully decorated and the beds where so comfy. It was just the right size for the two of us. When leaving the hotel Amina at the desk also got us a drink and was so helpful and friendly, such lovely people. We can’t wait to go back to Paris and will definitely be staying at Jacques de Molay. Dont expect much from this hotel as it is a very basic boutique, but it is probably the best (and affordable) place to stay if you are exploring Marais or Opera neighborhoods. LOCATION: Located in the heart of Marais with easy access to all train stations DINE + DRINK: Didnt get to try their F & B ROOM: We stayed in Room 104, so this review is based on that; VIEW: No View!; SIZE: A MATCHBOX of a room with barely any space for 2 adults to even walk around easily!; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: OK cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines. But be prepared to deal with super old weights and equipment - some probably older than you are! SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property - upto 30 Mbps speed. TinyTV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment Mostly in French

We booked a Deluxe room in this hotel. The room was small and there was very little wardrobe space. The bathroom door did not close properly and the bathroom itself was very small. We compared it with a normal standard room and that was bigger with a much better bathroom and more wardrobe space. We paid €60 more for the privilege of a worse room. When we mentioned this at reception, they did not seem to be interested.

Never have I been accommodated so wonderfully. I have traveled extensively for business and pleasure, and the staff at this hotel were by far the most pleasurable I’ve ever encountered to the best of my memory. Generous, kind, attentive and genuine — each of them equally so. They are the reason for the five star rating alone. The room itself was cozy and typically Parisian in size. Fitted with all you’d need for a comfortable stay with a pleasing color palette. The bed was very comfortable and I slept dreamily while there. I wish the bathroom lightening were better for makeup application, but I often travel with a makeup mirror, so for me - that wasn’t a male or break situation. I cannot rave enough about the location - right in the heart of the Marais and steps from the Rue de Bretagne with shops, cafes and the Lenfants Rouges market. Ideal area to settle in at “home” while in Paris. I WILL be staying at this hotel from not own when I visit until a time when I can buy my own Paris apartment.
