Pas un 5 étoiles... Petit coquin avec chambres minuscules et pas au aux normes d'un 5 étoiles pas de produits haut de gamme avec spa également petit et non de qualité. Passez votre chemin si vous n'aimez pas les ambiances hôtels de passes dans un quartier de passe.

My wife and I did not like this hotel. True to theme, everywhere was very dark, and we were less concerned about not being seen than we were about being able to find the place to put our key card to our room in the middle of the day. And our room was very cramped, lacking even a single luggage rack. We had to push our bags under our bed just be able to navigate to the bathroom. Also, we were bothered by the cigarette smoke wafting up from the small courtyard 2 floors below through our open window. Finally, the service was lacking. The woman who took us to our room said she would see if we could get some laundry done over the weekend: she never got back to us. And on our last day, well in advance of the noon checkout, I returned solo to our room after having coffee and a croissant down the street. I got up to my room, only to find my key card had been deactivation. Racing down to the front desk, the woman there directed me to a bathroom in the basement. When I returned to our room, after stopping at the front desk to get a working key card, my wife was also locked out in the dark corridor wondering where I was and why I didn’t answer her knocks. One would have hoped that the woman at the front desk would have proactively given her a working key and told her I was not in the room. Later I was told all the keys had been changed due to a computer issue and an apology was proffered.

First, the car they sent to pick my daughter and I up from the airport was too small to take us and our luggage. I guess I was supposed to be familiar with a Mercedes E class. I just assumed if you send a car to do an airport pickup, it has room for more that one suitcase in the trunk. When we arrived at the hotel they apologized for the miscommunication and promised a bottle of champagne which never arrived. The rest of the service was lovely at the beginning of our stay but it slacked off at the end of the week. And they still charged me 200 euros for the car that was unable to transport us. Such a shame as the hotel has such a fun theme and beautiful decor. Some of the staff was extreme helpful as well. I just would not call this a five start hotel. Next trip, I’ll go back to The St. James which is outstanding.

We have just returned from a great stay at the Maison Souquet, specifically to mark and celebrate a significant life milestone. Based on our wonderful experience we’d especially like to to take the time to compliment all the staff and their attentions, and their sense of our needs as guests. On one particular occasion (witnessing a guest who seemed intent on persisting with a minor complaint solely to involve others present in their dissatisfaction) we were particularly impressed with the discretion and calm exhibited by staff involved. Based on this experience (and also with appropriate recognition of the cleanliness, service and entire ambience of Maison Souquet) we’d certainly contemplate any excuse at all for a return visit. Even without the wonderful, unexpected bonus private access to the beautiful pool and spa proved to be we were more than delighted with our stylish, luxurious yet appropriately casual temporary home in the heart of Montmartre during our time in Paris. As we are not typically '5 star' travellers we especially felt it was just the place for us in that regard too as it was clear to us it is a hotel that not just caters to that style of travel more than adequately, but also with a character all its own to boot. Until we visit again we will meanwhile more than delight in exploring deeper the soundtracks to our stay, from the hotel’s very own carefully curated playlists specifically to set the tone for morning, afternoon and evening (as I learned when I enquired). It's 5 stars from us for a 5 star hotel for sure, but a hotel also with just the right amount of the very best of Parisien character.
