Il Poggio di Tropea

Everything works efficiently and everything is good quality. Delicious half board food. Each morning you are presented with the evenings menu so you can select your choice . The restaurant relocates to lovely gardens in the hot months and the waitress service is a welcome change to the more common hotel buffet style food . Every night is a really pleasant experience which starts with wine selection where there were plenty of local Calabrian wines to choose from . Great pasta courses , lots of fish and shell fish . Generally there is plenty of choice with little or no repetition of dishes even in a 14 day cycle . Breakfast is equally good and is served on the beautiful roof top garden where there are amazing views. A good section of sweet and savoury choices are on offer …….and there is a coffee machine that makes delicious freshly ground coffee. Breakfast is a real highlight. In July /August you would be crazy to walk to beach because of the intense heat but it is possible. However, the regular and efficient mini-bus takes only 2 minutes. The beach is great and the free , reserved beds and shade on the white sand beach is a great feature. The beach is beautiful and the restaurant there serves clams mussels, fresh fish and all the associated pasta – casual and prefect …. We ate there every day. If you prefer a natural beach where there are no beds or facilities you can walk to one and it takes about 20 minutes . Both beaches was clean and the water beautifully clear. So… to sum up – it is hard to find anything at Piccolo that was disappointing or sub-standard. As long as you are ok with beach and not having a pool and also the fact there isn’t a great deal around the hotel to see or do you will love it . That said …. Tropea is only a 30 minute walk away or use the fast and efficient Piccolo mini bus. Loved Calabria -its an undeveloped part of Italy with beautiful beaches un-spoilt countryside and not too many big hotels . The people are great – the food fantastic and if you want to speak and practice Italian they let you do it and help . Hired are car for one day which was fine but frankly Tropea is by far the nicest the town- so why move around ? Highly recommend this hotel and this area .

Partendo dal personale super disponibile e carinissimo, dal ristorante, la reception e il bar in piscina. Camera con arredi non troppo moderni ma pulizie ottime e precise.. tutto sommato siamo stati bene ! Ci hanno fatto sentire a casa… la vista mozzafiato ! ❤️

Ho soggiornato nella settimana di ferragosto ma non sono rimasta molto soddisfatta… la struttura è molto datata così come le camere con bagno da rifare per cattivo odore e doccia piccolissima… il pulmino che ti porta in spiaggia parte ogni mezz’ora con orari molto ridotti quindi non più tardi delle 10/10.30 al mattino e delle 16/16.30 al pomeriggio. L’ acqua della piscina è molto calda e non ti invita a tuffarsi e poi il servizio soft all inclusive consiste nel fare la coda al bar della piscina ogni volta che vuoi anche un solo bicchiere di acqua! Io personalmente non ci tornerò….
