The pousada has only 6 rooms and is located right on the Praia Grande beach about 15 minutes from Paraty. It is new and everything is in good condition. We booked an upstairs room (superior) with sea view which I would definitely recommend as it has a big balcony with a great view. It was really relaxing to hear the sound of the waves. I would not recommend the ground floor rooms as the view is blocked by a cottage between the building and the beach. The room was stylish and comfortable with some nice touches such as a nespresso machine, kettle and umbrellas. The only thing missing that would have made it better was some comfortable chairs or sun loungers to relax on the balcony. Breakfast was served in the São Francisco restaurant affiliated to the pousada which is located right on the beach. Service and food were both great. It’s open all day for meals, snacks and drinks and is very good. From the other side of the beach you can walk to another nice beach “Prainha” through a path (a bit rough though) in about 10 minutes. It’s quite small and can get crowded but was still very nice. It’s nicer for swimming than Praia Grande which had a lot of boats coming and going. We went on a private boat trip for a day around various islands and small beaches leaving right from the beach in front of the pousada which was fantastic. The pousada has parking but it’s quite cramped and sometimes the access can be difficult. Overall we had a very good stay and I would recommend this pousada.

This lovely Pousada is a couple of miles north of the bustle of Paraty. It sits on its own little day filled with fishing boats and cool breezes. Our room has a direct view of the bay and it’s about 50 steps from the beach side restaurant which was also a delightful surprise. The staff do not speak English but we used translation apps and did just fine. I highly recommend getting a iTranslate before you visit Brazil if you are English speaking. Our room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked though we did not need it. There is a mini fridge with bottled water,beer,cokes and a couple of small bottles of wine as well. After visiting Paraty we were very relieved that we were not staying there. This is a quiet out-of-the-way spot, peaceful and refreshing!

Pousada Catarina fue todo lo que prometía. La habitación en el piso superior fue un gran acierto. Un hermoso balcón que nos regaló mañanas y noches soñadas con vista a la playa y los barcos amarrados. Por las noches dormir solo con el mosquitero cerrado para impedir el ingreso de insectos y descansar escuchando el ruido de las olas (la pousada está alejada del centro), sin dudas fue todo soñado! Las habitaciones cuentan con un nivel de detalles y decorado que no se encuentra en otras posadas. Bacha para lavar, copas, platos, paraguas por si llovía, baños amplios, etc. Todo está pensado al detalle. Es para destacar la limpieza del lugar (feliciten al personal de limpieza que ordena las habitaciones todas las mañanas!!). Es increíble lo bien mantenido que está todo y el esmero que ponen en el orden. La pousada se encuentra alejada del centro, pero habíamos alquilado un auto (super recomendable ya que también cuentan con estacionamiento gratuito para huéspedes). El desayuno se sirve en un restaurante en la playa (literalmente en la playa!) al lado del hotel. La gente que atiende la pousada (Perla), tanto como las personas del restaurante (Favio), son súper amables. Si bien no hablan mucho español, siempre estaban predispuestos a ayudar y se encontraban atentos a todos los detalles. Ya se extrañan esos días en Catarina, esperamos con ansias poder volver pronto a este lugar tan mágico que es Paraty y poder nuevamente hacerlo en Catarina.

Eu e meu marido ficamos hospedados 5 dias na pousada e com certeza, se pudéssemos, ficaríamos muito mais. Quarto extremamente limpo, confortável e com uma vista linda. Equipe solícita e gentil. O café da manhã é maravilhoso, de qualidade e muito bem servido. Começar o dia com o excelente atendimento, com uma ótima refeição e uma linda vista, é muito revigorante. Deixo um comentário especial sobre os meninos que serviram o café (Paulo e Fabio): super gentis, educados, gente agradável pra se ter por perto, profissionais que nitidamente exercem com muito zelo e empenho suas funções. Também recebemos uma dica excelente da Perla, instruções do Pedro... enfim, o serviço oferecido é de qualidade, e isso se dá muito por conta de quem faz acontecer. Ah, existe uma trilha pertinho da pousada que dá acesso a uma praia lindíssima também. A pousada oferece um combo perfeito pra quem está buscando tranquilidade. Poucos minutos a pé de uma praia belíssima (percurso que também pode ser feito por caiaque pela costa), praia de pescadores em frente a pousada para quem só quer ouvir o mar e fazer uma boa refeição com a natureza ao redor, 20 minutos de carro para o centro. Com certeza voltaremos.

A experiência da hospedagem é especial pois une um quarto confortável e aconchegante, um restaurante com pratos apetitosos e bem feitos e praia pequena, tranquila com poucas ondas e natureza ao redor. Para quem se incomoda com barcos a prainha vizinha após uma trilha de 10 minutos é ideal.
