A wonderful super friendly place that I’d highly recommend. The staff and owners were amazing and couldn’t be more welcoming. It was like having family! The hotel garden is a little oasis of calm and green with a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was very clean and serviced to a high standard. I loved the pool and also enjoyed the tasty breakfasts. Will definitely be back!

Front desk went above and beyond. This was the first in 45 countries where there was no ATM or change machine in the airport on arrival. And our first day there was a national holiday so the banks and places to change money were closed. Hotels take credit cards in Suriname but almost no restaurants do. The front desk found us a Chinese restaurant that took US dollars so we were able to eat dinner until we could change money. Each room had different birds and wildlife painted inside. Furniture was unique. Bed was comfortable. Ensuite bathroom with shower. Breakfast was included and there were fresh fruits and juices in addition to eggs and cereal options. We were there a week but a few of the nights our excursion took us far enough out of town that we didn't stay at the hotel. We knew they would hold our bags for us while we did the excursions. But it ended up they were able to let us even leave it in our locked hotel room. Very convenient. They don't change money at the front desk, there's no ATM within a few blocks and other than the breakfast area, there's no restaurant in the hotel. There a few places to get coffee a little further down the block. Restaurants such as Naskip for chicken and Padre Nostro for pizza and gelato within walking distance. On our wedding anniversary our breakfast server learned that fact and went in to the kitchen for two pieces of banana cake and played on the speakers a romantic song. Air conditioning in the guest room but not any other areas of the hotel.

Very good hotel. Due to an issue at our booked appartment we had to get a room within an hour at night. The lady on the phone was super helpful with getting us a room and booked a taxi to the hotel from the appartment. Friendly staff, good breakfast. The owner was also really nice and helpful. Would reccomend 10/10!

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay - the people working at the hotel make the place really stand out. Shivani and Ischa made our visit so special and even organised a wonderful birthday tea for my daughter. The only thing I would say is that the lack of shade around the pool is a real shame and could so easily be remedied. A couple of parasols hardly take up any space at all, but would make a big difference to those who have to avoid the sun!

It is a very nice hotel, quite close to the main tourist landmarks in Paramaribo. The staff is friendly and is always ready to help you happily. The swimming pool is quite nice and guests can use it until the evening. The breakfast was also very good.

Right from the start it was on top of my hotel search list while planning our holiday in Surinam. For its beautiful, authentic design, its family-home nature and its near city-center location. We spent our first three nights here and, as we liked it so much, also our last three nights. Stacey, Shivanie and Catherine, the ladies at the reception, welcomed us very kindly at arrival and helped us out greatly during our stay. As did manager Gert with suggestions for great restaurants as well as a stay at the Jaw Jaw village along the upper Suriname river (also highly-recommended if you can cope with basic living conditions). With all of them and co-manager Manoj we had very pleasant discussions. The rooms and bathrooms are not too big but they are cosy and clean which applies to all aspects of the well-maintained hotel. One more reason why in no time we felt as if at home. A decent breakfast is served at a terrace at the back of the hotel. (In the corner the tortoise Woody may have his watermelon breakfast too.) It is then a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel to the city centre where you can see the many 19th century wooden buildings on the Unesco herigate list or stroll along the Surinam river at the Waterkant or have a drink or meal at the popular cafes and restaurants at the Wakaman Pasi and the Sommeldijcksestraat. Being Dutch we walked to "Fietsen in Suriname", next to the Palm tree Garden, to rent bicycles to extend our range in the city (only advised for experienced bicycle riders, though). Back at the hotel you can cool down in or next to the pool and enjoy a drink from the bar. In the lobby an article on the wall documents how this beautiful hotel was renovated from its ruins using Surinam wood only. By staying at this hotel you do those who renovated and run it a favour but especially yourself.

What a beautiful Hotel in the Citycenter of Paramaribo… I really like my stay. Highly recommended

We loved the Greenheart! The building itself is very much worth seeing—a wooden marvel made from local timber—and the service is excellent. We deeply appreciated all the help and suggestions we got from manager Jerry and from all the staff at the desk. We had an enjoyable, comfortable visit, and we would recommend it.
