Hotel Hanioti Village Spa

This was marketed as a 3 star hotel and it is a 3 star hotel. But a decent one. Overall the main things that matter (the people, the facilities and the cleanliness) were good. There are some things that could make it an excellent 3 star but it didn’t stop our enjoyment. The one thing we found when arriving was that it is not obvious where reception is. Arriving late at night we did feel like an inconvenience and struggled to find any signs of life. A sign, some lights etc would make a difference. As would a trolley for luggage and someone to help the ladies carry theirs. We were also told at check in that we’d have to move rooms part way through the stay which put us in a bit of a mood initially, which is not what you want after a long journey. (We sorted this the next day and were told that we didn’t have to change if we refused, but it was an unusual experience and not something that made us feel welcome.). Whilst basic, the rooms were very clean and the linens and bed were comfortable. Whilst towels etc were changed most days, we did feel that the cleaning of the rooms after arrival could have been better during the stay. Just an odd mop and sweep up. The breakfast was very good. As vegetarians and a vegan there were enough choices for us and the breads and fruit were fresh. The coffee machine broke which was not ideal and meant the instant sachets were a disappointment. A decaf option (other than having to pay) would also be appreciated. The pool was so quiet and well maintained. You never had to worry about reserving a lounger and we could go at any time of the day and get a space. The water was clean and warm. Very enjoyable pool with plenty of space. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk and the town about 15 mins. This included all shops, restaurants and bars. So you are away from craziness but close enough to the action. Whilst you can’t have your own drinks around the pool you do have a fridge so can buy drinks and have them in your room. The bar prices are high but it’s what you expect, but the food selection is good and reasonably priced. Nothing gets watered down and it’s branded spirits and all fresh food. The chocolate milkshakes were a hit with the teenager. The grounds were kept immaculately. And the hotel cats were a real hit too (well with the cat loving members of the family). We didn’t make use of the spa apart from on the final day when we were able to use the shower facilities as our flight was late. Whilst we’d have appreciated keeping the room for a late checkout (and we said we’d be happy to pay) we appreciated that it wasn’t possible and grateful that we were given this opportunity to enjoy our final day and freshen up before travelling. The evening was quiet, which suited us. There was a karaoke evening which we didn’t take part in, but we enjoyed cocktails that evening anyway! This is a very nice, quiet and peaceful hotel with a family run feel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good.Good for young children.Amazing place! The rooms are very clean and cozy, the food is super delicious and the staff very friendly.

Stayed here for four nights with my mum. It was perfect. The hotel is situated close to Hanioti centre so ideal to get to the local shops, bars and restaurants. The pool area is fantastic, plenty of sun beds available so there is always availability. The pool and surrounding areas are kept so well. It’s a great place to chill and enjoy the weather. Great playlists played too. Calm and peaceful in the morning and a little more funky in the afternoon. I was able to enjoy the sunshine until around 7pm. The breakfast offer was amazing, so much choice, plenty of fresh and dried fruit, gorgeous local honeycomb/honey, cooked foods, cold meats, cheeses, salad, breads and conserves as well as pastries. Giannis, Giannis and the rest of the team are super hosts, friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble. Lots of local knowledge about restaurants, transport, places to visit etc and super helpful in organising taxis, booking restaurants etc. Mum and I visited the spa where Joanna really spoilt us. An excellent masseuse and super helpful, especially for mum who was unable to get into the massage bed and yet could access a wonderful leg and foot massage. In our short stay we visited the spa twice as it was such a professional massage. Highly recommend a visit during your stay. There is food available throughout the day and dinner can be pre booked at breakfast time. I would definitely go back to this hotel, hopefully will get back with my hubby at some time 🇬🇷

This is a very nice, quiet and peaceful hotel with a family run feel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good. It's a 10 minute walk into Hanioti and 40 minute walk to nearby Pefkochori. Both have a great selection on restaurants and bars. The beach is 5 minutes away also. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel.

Lovely clean apartment. AC was free, my sister and I had a balcony, mozzie screen and patio doors leading outside. Bedding Changed every 3 days and towels every day if you wanted. No clothes airer, not enough sockets. They gave us more hangers when I asked. Fab shower. Very comfy beds. Brekkie was fab and no restrictions on how much you could have. Continental, cooked and fruit. Salad, yoghurt, breads. Tea, juices and their coffee was the best. Great pool and there is a spa pool too. Lovely well maintained gardens. Free WiFi. Staff were lovely and place is run by brothers, all welcoming and friendly. Bar drinks were a bit pricey so we went elsewhere. We went half board, a lack of veg with evening meal so we would go b&b if we came again, we ended up eating out in the last few days. Bus stop not far and beach close by. 10 min walk into village. One downside was that people put towels on sunbeds very early so most of the time we never got the sun facing beds and parasols. Great music around the bar and pool. We liked all the staff and it felt homely. We would come again, it felt safe and comfortable.

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here rooms are kept very clean and tidy all the staff work exceptionally hard all day long. our only "gripe" with our room was our bed was placed under a window and the curtains oddly only went to the edge of the window which meant when you lay down the bottom of the curtain swung about your head! it also let too much light into the room on a morning tea and coffee making facilities would also be a huge bonus as we really missed just having that cuppa before going out to dinner. spacious balconies overlooking the well kept grounds (would have preferred more privacy) lots of sunbeds no sunbed hogging here at all breakfast was ok for what we paid. we certainly didnt struggle to feed ourselves and the breakfast area is lovely. the hotel IS on a busy road but we were never bothered by noise. its a nice easy 15 minute stroll to hanioti centre which has plenty of bars and restaurants and shops to keep you busy. frequent busses run along the main road to get you to most places on the island. afytos is really lovely for a visit. dont be put off when you get off the bus as we all were thinking where the hell are we?? its a quick 5 minute stroll to get to the main village. grounds and pool all very relaxing and quiet. all in all if you are looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful this is probably hard to beat. we probably would not come back to Halkididki itself. not because it wasn't lovely, but because, as my husband put it, it was a bit too "laid out" and easy for us. and we want to visit more traditional greek places first.
