InCanto

This was a great B&B to stay at. Very good location, within a short walk everywhere. Room size was huge and the breakfast selection was extremely nice. Would I stay here again ? YES!!!!

I was so excited about this hotel, the photos looked amazing. The room was spacious and updated, but the street noise was very VERY loud. We have stayed many places including New York City but the noise level here was over the top throughout the day and early morning as well (3-4 in the morning). We expected the room to be made up, beds made each day etc.. but they did not do that during our 3 night stay. There was no one there at check in. It was like staying in an Air bnb. We had to do self check in (we arrived during the day) and since the hotel was located down an alleyway we had a tough time finding it. I am grateful that we are able to manage our own bags up several flights of stairs and felt bad for the much older couple who struggled to get their bags up the stairs. The breakfast was nice each day. But we expected more of a hotel stay not a self serve stay. There was a coffeemaker in the room, but they charged you extra if you used it. There is also a city tax that they will collect at the end of the stay. It was definitely a mixed bag, would not stay again if I came back to Palermo.

I had a tough time giving InCanto an average rating, because it was definitely not average. The good qualities were really great, but the bad qualities were really bad. First the good - The room was large & comfortable, located right in the middle of everything, a few steps away from the famous Four Corners. I loved the breakfast every day delivered right to our room. Lots of great places to eat and drink, and sights to see, just a short walk in every direction. Now the bad - InCanto is difficult to find, since the main entrance, the one with a sign, is inside a private building up on the 2nd floor (or 3rd floor for Americans.) There is no signage on the main streets, and only a tiny sign once you find the otherwise generic door located down an alley. I asked many locals for directions when I was only 1 -2 blocks away, and nobody had ever heard of it. The Four Corners is very close, and very LOUD. Live music starts early in the morning and continues until late at night. Well after midnight, after the music stops, people walk through the streets shouting & kicking beer bottles. It's never quiet, and you easily hear all the noise from inside the room with all the doors & windows closed. The front desk is only staffed in the morning, so when we could not find the place in the afternoon to check in, nobody was there to answer the phone. There's no elevator and no help, so be prepared to carry all of your own luggage up two flights of narrow stairs. We had a misunderstanding regarding our bill. It worked out fine in the end, but we couldn't just go to the front desk to fix it, we had to do everything online, so something that would have normally taken two minutes wind up taking half a day. Our room had a nice wood floor, but there were tiny nails sticking up through the floor. We normally don't wear shoes inside, but after having the nails tear our socks and poke the soles of our feet, we had to keep our shoes on. For me, the negatives outweighed the positives, and I would not stay here again or recommend this place to anyone else.

Couple stayed for 6 nights in this lovely boutique hotel. Room is not big but very well kept and stylish. There are some strange things such as no soap for the bathroom sink, but those are small details. Breakfast included has a lot of options. Reception is not opened after 8 pm but we were able to resolve an issue over WhatsApp in less than a minute. Location can't be beaten for a visit. Thick windows ensure a quiet room. You have to climb stairs as the hotel starts on second floor (third American floor)

InCanto is in an excellent location right in the heart of old town Palermo. You are steps away from restaurants, spectacular buildings, churches and all the interesting things to see in Palermo. InCanto is in an old building that is secure, very quiet and has had a modern renovation in all the rooms. The rooms are luxurious, the shower is excellent, the breakfast has a good variety of food on offer and in general this accommodation is very good. The negative issues are very steep staircase to your room (no elevator) and there is no assistance offered to help you with your luggage, there is no English speaking tv at all, or Netflix , the staff don’t reply to emails regarding your booking and seem to be disorganised regarding their bookings so mistakes can occur (like double booking your room) You have to place your breakfast order in the night before and I had to ask repeatedly for a form in English because I can’t read Italian and had no idea what I was ordering. If they expect to host guests from other countries other than Italy then they need to prepare for that.

I came with my family to spend some day in Cefalù. It was a dream...the room for me and my family was clean and confortable. The staff extremely kind and the owner made us feel at home as a real gentleman. The position of the b&b has been perfect for my kids to reach easily the historical center and the seaside. Breakfast at the bar delicious. I will surely come again with my wife and 3 kids. David

Good little B&B with a nice breakfast. We booked a junior suite but on the morning of checking in were upgraded to Executive Suite #5 Santa Rosalia. The room is beautiful however we would have preferred the original room as it was larger with a separate sitting area. We checked in quite late but they have a very smart system with cameras and electronic doors so even though they aren’t there all the time you can reach somebody whenever you need and they can open doors remotely. The first night there was no water pressure at all, not even enough to switch the hose to the rainfall shower, messaged the host about 1am, they replied in 9 minutes and the issue was solved the next morning which was great. We could hear everything on the street so the few ambulances that went past as well as street cleaners/bin service people were heard in the room, maybe earplugs should be provided for guests? Breakfast is provided by filling out a form the night before and leaving outside your door, you choose the time you want it and whatever you like and they will knock when it’s ready to eat in the common area, the weekend we were there there was not 1 other guest that was eating at the same time as us. Food was fresh and beautifully presented with the staff who served it really lovely. We would definitely be back but would like to try the original room we booked to see if that is any quieter, and for the extra space. Got a late checkout to 6pm for €50 as our flight was late on Monday night. Thanks to the hosts Federica and Sonia, they were both really friendly when we spoke to them!

We can't speak highly enough about this b&b , the room was very spacious and well decorated, the service was excellent, we recommend this place for everyone who wants to stay in the heart of palermo with walking distance to all the attractions.

Localización inmejorable. Habitación muy confortable. Desayuno muy bueno (servido en la habitación o en sala común) y estupenda atención por parte del personal. Perfecto! Repetiría seguro y sin duda lo recomendaré a mis amigos. Una estancia perfecta.
