This is a resort we wanted to try staying for a long time, despite having one of the highest room rates in Khao Yai, we wanted to try a luxury experience for a change. However I must say I expected more. We stayed in the Mountain View Pool Villa, but despite the name there is hardly any view. The entire villa is surrounded by a high fence, since there are houses on the other side. It is also not far from the main road so you can sometimes hear passing motorbikes. There is a very small plunge pool that is not tiled but painted concrete, but the concrete is chipping along the pool floor so that its quite painful when your foot scrapes on it. The pool also seemed to be leaking, which is why the staff left a hose in the pool with the tap on to maintain the water level. There is a lack of lights outside the villa and the pool area is very dark at night. However to the staff's credit they did set up portable garden lights when we requested. Given the high room rate, what's provided in the villa is quite spartan. No music player unlike other similar resorts, the "free mini-bar" has only 2 cans of soda, some chips and peanuts, no beer. No clothes hangers provided. More on the villa's design: There is no ceiling so you sleep directly beneath the wooden roof tiles. Luckily no leaks. Front sliding glass doors do not have mosquito net screen doors, so be careful if you want to leave them open for fresh air. We were also asked to pay 4,000 Baht cash as a security deposit upon checking in. I suggest Boribot should accept credit card for this security deposit similar to other resorts which will make it more convenient for guests. Breakfast is good, ala carte that needs to be pre-ordered the night before. Overall staff were friendly and helpful, trying to make our stay comfortable.
