We stayed in the one bedroom unit. It was clean, bright and comfortable. The hosts Julie and Martin we friendly and helpful but never intrusive. It was quiet and calm. The location is perfect. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach. We could walk to the pier or 2 minutes to the grocery store. Enjoyed our stay there.

Julie and the team at Gateway are extremely accommodating and friendly. We were in an awful predicament and they saved the day for us and managed to find us a room. It was very comfortable and clean, with plenty of seating and very comfy beds. There were plenty of supplies in both the bathroom and the kitchen. Even yummy biscuits. We were close to both the beach and shops, and even though you are on a busy road it is extremely quiet. We would totally recommend basing yourself here for your adventures in the north.

The motel is very nicely maintained and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring this area and within sight of the beach and a big grocery store. Julie was very helpful with our booking and during our stay. We would definitely stay again.

Good location and helpful/friendly manager. The rooms are spacious, clean and adapted for people in a wheelchair. Parking available and close to the city centre and shop. Our stay was marvellous and relaxed. Thanks again for your hospitality!

This motel has to be one of the cleanest motels in NZ. Plenty of amenities for cooking and TV is large and can access Netflix etc. Wifi is perfect! Nice and close to the waterfront and only a short walk to the town centre. Lovely hosts. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone travelling for business or pleasure.

Spotlessly clean and exceptionally friendly service and great value ! Would definitely stay again. A stone's throw from the beach. Really easy check in and check out, Julie and Martin were really helpful. A lovely place to stop for a weekend away

Excellent stay, beautiful clean rooms, brilliant staff and awesome location. Stayed here while playing at the Jazz and blues festival so was glad of the clean and comfortable room. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the bay of Islands and beyond

We were in Paihia to attend our nephews tangi and as it was Easter weekend we were very lucky to find accommodation at late notice for 5 people. Julie was very helpful and as we expected to arrive late at night she kept in contact with us by txt and she made sure we had no problems accessing our unit. We had the executive suite upstairs which was the perfect size for us all. As all of us adults required separate beds Julie made up a comfy mattress for the teen to sleep on the floor which I appreciated. The suite was spacious, spotless and well equipped with everything we needed, including 3 TVs, a private balcony with our own BBQ and very nice view of the sea. Having two bathrooms made things so much easier too. It was very handy to the beach and a supermarket was literally just across the road. In spite of being on a main road it was very quiet at night. Would absolutely recommend this as a place to stay in Paihia for a large whanau. Great hosts too.

Julie and Martin were brilliant to us throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a first floor suite which had excellent self catering facilities, a lovely shower and comfy bed. They were very helpful in suggesting things we could do including suggesting a chocolate factory to visit! The motel is conveniently located close to a supermarket and petrol station, and the town centre is a short stroll away. We found it an excellent base to explore from.
