The resort and scuba diving is nice. The staff is friendly and professional, dive sites are nice (I dived on 4 locations on the opposite side of the bay). When I was diving it was only our boat on location, therefore the sites were not crowded which adds to the value of experience. They divide the group in subgroups, so it's approx 4 people per one dive master and not everyone goes in at the same time, so you have a lot of space to explore. As far as the whaleshark watching goes.... just don't go. It is a bad experience. There was 16 of us on the boat and when the spotters saw a whaleshark they brought us to the spot, all 16 ppl jumped in the water and swam towards the whaleshark (it was madness, felt almost like fighting with the other snorkellers) and for 10 seconds you can see the whaleshark. Then they put you back on the boat and repeat the process. We saw 1,5 whaleshark. Yes 1,5. One was for 10 seconds max and the 0,5 was because we only briefly saw the tail. After 1 hour the spotters don't feel like working anymore so the boat drives up and down the bay, till the 3 hour slot is done (boats are only allowed to be there for 3 hours) and you go back to resort. Honestly, it is a borderline scam. They could improve the whole tour and it took me about 2h to figure it out how, but I guess easy money is a better option for them and the locals. Some people were totaly overwhelmed by the "experience", but in my opinion, their standards are just really low. Go to Peter's dive resort and do scuba dives. You will love it. It is a quiet place in the south Leyte, the gear they use is good and it is a nice place in general. But skip the whaleshark tour and instead use that money for some extra scuba dives.
