B&B Casa Camilla

John and I loved everything about B&B Camilla in Padua. We arrived by rental car from the Venice airport at 5:30 pm, having seen the most gorgeous crimson sunset ever along our route. Filippo kept in touch even before our arrival, to ensure that we were safely on our way. We were given the very finest deluxe unit at Casa Camilla, which was the two-story apartment that has 4 beds on the second floor and a lovely living area and kitchen on the first floor. As others have already commented, you do not want to leave this beautiful home away from home. In fact, even as we had arranged to stay only one night, we ended up staying for three! Filippo and his parents make you feel like family and are attentive to your every need. You will feel total peace here and the service is like being royalty! The morning after our first night’s stay, Filippo personally transported us to the historic downtown area, where he left us with his own map, personally written guide of all the places to see in the area, and instructions on how to safely return “home” at the end of the day, either by walking, taking a bus, or hiring a taxi. The restaurant Filippo recommended for dinner, just a minute’s walk from B&B Camilla, was also excellent. What more can be said??? Great stay! The location is amazing with big rooms with Italian specifics and a beautiful garden, 30 minutes by foot to the center and 10 by car. The breakfast was great and Filippo is an excellent and helpful host - he helped us with directions and restaurants recommendations. We visited Pienza after a talk with him and it was best idea ever. 5 stars!

We were on a 1 week city break taking in Bologna, Padova, and Venice. Our best experience was in Padova thanks to Filippo and his family. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt as if we were part of the family. Our room was lovely and homely, the breakfast was great. Filippo's advice on what to do /where to eat in Padova was invaluable. I'm sure we'll be back. Padova, a great destination in it's own right, is in an ideal base to visit Verona, Venice, Bologna, Ravenna, etc - car and rail links are all excellent. And frankly I'm not sure that there would be any better place to stay than Casa Camilla.

We had the most fantastic stay at Casa Camilla. The family couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, and their home is ever so comfortable. It is a super place to stay, and if we return to Padua we will definitely book it again. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived Filippo was the gracious host. We were invited into his home, which was much more than a regular B&B. From all his help with directions, the location and where to visit, Filippo went beyond any other host we have met before. Our room was exceptional with beautiful frescoes on the wall and cleaned every day. Breakfast was generous with many different homemade offerings. And to top it all, Filippo took us in his car back to town in the morning. All in all, it was beyond our expectations.

The location is 5 minutes off the main road yet is in a very quiet neighborhood. The accommodation is family run and it was lovely to meet the host's parents and wife, we were greeted with a coffee and a piece of homemade cake. Ample parking off road and the rooms are lovely with the walls being hand painted with pictures of birds. The host is very friendly and knowledgeable and has prepared a guide to Padua, which is 20 minutes by bus to the historic center, which is well worth visiting. There are various restaurants close by but we did not try them as we met up with family. The buffest breakfast had everything and you would certainly no go hungry. Filippo ( the host) is a delightful character with plenty of information, books and pamphlets on things to do and see in the area.
