Centrally located in the middle of Oxford City, amidst many other Oxford University colleges. The Kyoto prize was being held that weekend, so (for a nerd like me) it felt a bit thrilling to be among some of the brightest minds in the world. I was not invited to the banquet unfortunately, but peeked at it from my hallway. The room is charming if a bit basic, especially the bathroom. I booked a queen-bed with a beautiful view out of leaded windows. You can find the photos of the rooms through their website. I would call this more of a b&b than hotel, as there were minimal services. Check-in desk is manned for a limited number of hours each day, and I had to leave my luggage at another hotel in Oxford when my flight landed too early for me to check-in to the Rhodes House. Luckily the other hotel (The Store, also wonderful) was extremely accomodating. I would stay the Rhodes House is a good value stay if you are only there to sleep at night, as there is no gym/spa, in-room dining, etc. They do provide coffee/tea facilities, and there is a cafe that serves breakfast downstairs. But for me it was a wonderful evening, and I enjoyed the historical aesthetics and brush with academia!
