Courtyard Oxford

The manager returned my call and was extremely accommodating and assisted with a change in my families schedule during a busy game weekend. I would recommend staying at the courtyard in Oxford, MS for all future visits. I look forward to our next stay.

Came for the weekend and overall it was ok. The workers at the front desk were kind, always asked about our day and if we needed anything. There was a good amount of parking as well. The cleaning people were a bit lacking. They constantly were on their phones talking and you can hear them constantly in the morning talking loudly, on FaceTime, speaker phone etc. overall they were nice though if we needed anything. The hotel was hosting a rush event for one of the sororities which was fine but we were told to use different elevators and constantly looked at like we were an issue coming in and out of the hotel for one of the days and even got “shhhh” one time when we came in and the door closed behind us loudly which was awkward so I would maybe inquire about events occurring during your stay before booking. I did the sorority thing years ago, I get it’s a big deal, but that was a giant group to take over the entire area. Their bags and stuff were on all the tables and chairs so the bistro area was unusable during the first 2 days of our stay. We were there for a wedding and used their snack area when we got in late which had a decent amount of options. We were close to everything and did walk back from the square a few times. Price is definitely cheaper than everything else around so I guess you get what you pay for. Check out Sammy’s deli (right beside the hotel) if you stay here, super nice guys, quick service, great food.

This hotel is in an amazing location if you're wanting to walk to the college and the downtown square. The staff checking in was very friendly. We were upgraded and the room was cool with an upstairs bedroom, but the bathroom was dirty. She had crap in the toilet! It was just dirty. We did tell the front desk and they offered us a discount, but at check out it was not on the bill and the person had no idea what to do. He said he had to wait for his GM to come in. Were still waiting! No good for a Marriott Brand!

If you care about your comfort and health, this is not the hotel for you. There are serious issues with mold on the ceilings and walls. Given the HVAC problems from earlier this year, bedbugs are also a concern. The sofa in my room was stained and when I arrived trash from the previous guest's stay was still in the room. My understanding is that regular housekeeping services are not performed at this hotel, even between stays. The service is terrible. During my four day/three night stay I asked several times for the issues to be remediated and I didn't even receive a response. It is a shame to see this hotel (which is not even a decade old) fall apart like it has. In the future I will be staying at the Graduate or the renovated Chancellor's House. The ownership group of this hotel fleeces out of town guests who expect a Marriot-level of quality and find themselves stuck in a cheap motel. Until new management or owners take over and make major renovations, don't stay here!

We are titanium members and always choose Marriott when available. I have never stayed in a run down Marriott like this one. From reading previous reviews, the lobby and parts of hotel didn’t have air-conditioning in the months of July and August. When you sit in the lobby, you can tell the place is filled with mold. Our room smelled like a hockey players locker room and the bathroom ceiling had mold all over it. When I pulled out the hairdryer, it was half melted and the filter was disgusting. We complained to the staff and they were very apologetic and offered to move our room. The next room was worse than the first so we moved back to the original room. Needless to say if we go back to Oxford, we will choose a different hotel. This hotel needs an entire renovation and mold remediation. I am highly allergic to mold so it to me no time to identify the entire place had mold. Marriott please take notice of this place and do something. Oxford is a great little town and needs a quality Marriott.

I came to town for a travel ball tournament at mTrade park, and since I'm a Marriott Bonvoy card member, I stay at Marriotts quite often. However, my stay this time was disappointing. When I arrived, the lobby and Bistro area had no A/C, and considering the temperatures were in the triple digits, it was truly unbearable. Another family on the team also stayed, and our kids wanted to use the indoor pool. Unfortunately, the pool's temperature was too cold, feeling more like ice water. Despite their efforts, they couldn't bear it. Overall, my experience was not up to par. I have another tournament in just two weeks, but I've decided to cancel my current reservation at this Marriott and look for alternative accommodations.

Upon checking in my daughter and I noticed the air conditioner was out in the lobby. We got to our room, the maid was outside of our room and had just cleaned our room. We proceed inside only to notice make up on the chair. The top of the desk was dirty, and the bathroom was still dirty. The refrigerator was unplugged, and I don't believe the floor had been vacuumed. My daughter and I decided to see if there was another room anywhere else. There was! Upon speaking to the front desk, they did give me my points back even though I had checked in already. I would not stay here again unless it was the only place in town available. Whoever the owners and managers are could definitely do a better job.

We have have at the property multiple times. It's been a year since our last stay. The property has deteriorated. The AC isn't working lobby. Room wasn't ready, had a horrible smell, bathroom was barely clean & supplies weren't replenished. Requested room to be cleaned, it wasn't. The outside patio area was completely dishelved & trash everywhere the entire 4 days we were there. So disappointing for a Marriott in a great location in a college town.
