Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge

This was our second time staying here, and we hope not our last. It is a truly special place, family run and it shows. The attention to detail and the quality of the chalets is impeccable. I thought it could not be improved upon before, but since our last visit you can see the family have plowed even more resources into the accommodation with new doors and special security locks. I certainly did not feel unsafe before but it was comforting to see the upgrades and know it is an ever evolving truly magnificent place to stay. The warm family welcome and chats over the delicious meals makes for a feeling of being welcome. The meals were prepared by the family personally and served with unique plating style. Of course not to forget the animals - our favorite time was early in the morning sitting on the stoep sipping a lovely coffee, soaking up the smell and sounds of nature and watching the Giraffe walking up the hill and the grazing buck in the distance. Truly a special place and a feeling of peace and tranquility.

The most exciting and enjoyable part of our honeymoon was spent here. Varley and his wife are next-level hosts. The homemade food was out of this world and is freshly prepared! The rooms are neat and have everything you need for a special getaway!

Dear Hannalize, dear Varley, your are generous and friendly hosts, Congratulations to your peaceful and wonderful Zwartberg Mountain View Lodge We enjoyed very much our stay of 3 days in the well equiped Zebra Chalet. In the beautiful Red Mountains around your lodge, we had very interesting walks and met many peaceful animals. In the late afternoon it was very nice to observe the different animals, living in your farm, the majestic Girafe or the Kudu and the springbock The dinners, you prepared in the evening have been wonderful compositons of different flavours. Thanks for your advices to different drives, we enjoyed the lions feeding, the cheethas and also the huge awesome Cango cave. Wolfgang and Margot

Great Experience—just the place for RUSTIC people!!! Easy access and lots of opportunities for mountain biking in the area. The Owners are warm-hearted and caring for their guests. Definitely recommendable!

What an amazing place! Everything was perfect, the hosts took great care of us with delicious meals on a beatiful decorated table, comfortable rooms with nice vieuws...surrounding by lots of wildlife . There is also enough to do in the environment, one night is not enough ...

The chalets are neat and practically furnished, fortunately with air conditioning, but without wifi and TV, ideal for relaxing. Both on your terrace and at the restaurant you can enjoy the many animals and especially during a morning walk. Hannalize is a very good chef, the dinner was always very well cared for and a delicious Karoo kitchen is offered. We can certainly recommend a stay here for people who love peace and nature.
