The roses and flowers - both in the gardens and in the exquisite prints. The scents. The calm. The croissants. The jams. The linens. The orangerie. The coziness. The fluffy pillows. The decor everywhere, esp in the main building, with terra cotta tile, rough hewn wooden beams, books, and antiques. The bubbles on the veranda with mom while my kids played in the yard. The rooibos tea in the library with dad. The fresh cut flowers everywhere. The attention to detail. Rosenhof is thus far the high water mark of our tour in South Africa. And probably the sweetly prettiest place I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying… and I have traveled all over the world. Some aspects of the room/bathroom are a little tired. But the rest is so pretty that one can overlook the little tired. Why didn’t I book a spa visit??? Likewise why didn’t I take time for the gallery? Bc the prints in the orangerie (where breakfast is served) were vibrant and exceptional and I wanted to see more.
