Mount Etjo Safari Lodge

It was my second time in Mt Etjo Safari Lodge. Always amazing! It was definitely not my last trip. See you next year!

Visited this time(after 2019) with my 88 year old former boss to let hin have an impression of a good lodge and a nice safari experience. It was a full sucess, the romm as confortable and spcious for a godd price, the food delicius as ever by the same chef as 2019, beautifully kept meadow, large pool. The safari contained the rhino trekking in the morning, congrats to the guide who showed us 5 rhinos after some walk.The eveneing game drive included elefants, springbock, fox, Zebras, giraffs. rhinos, kudu and antelope and a lonely Hippo in the large lake. Thnaks to much rain this year the grass was high and all was sooo green. May Mount Etjo SafarinLodge continue to lure and amuse us tourists for the next hundred years. If my budget will aoow I wiil aleays come back. Günther of Austria

This place has an Old African vibe, nothing is modern, but it takes you back to the roots and traditions of a true African experience, we met the Manger Hencu who was amazing, professional and friendly. Emma was also very kind and our children loved her. Thank you for making our visit special.

Mount Edjo Lodge is an impressive, spacious, and well-maintained lodge with a beautiful garden and charming decor. Situated by a pond, the surrounding nature offers ample opportunities to spot wildlife right from the lodge. I enjoyed a private game drive in the morning and joined a group safari in the evening, including a unique experience feeding lions at night. The one-on-one rhino tracking was an absolute must-do. We saw a variety of animals: lions, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and more. Highly recommended!

When you first arrive, you instantly relax. The staff are nice and helpful and while it feels like a mom and pop kind of place, it's run like a first rate hotel. Check in was easy and we found our room quickly. It was one of the family rooms and it was really spacious with a beautiful shower, a jacuzzi tub, comfy furnishings and a bed I could have spent a week in. They thought of every detail and it made for a truly lovely experience. On the river across from our room you could sit on benches and watch/listen to the pod of hippos, see elephants, a variety of antelope and pelicans - without ever going on a game drive. The pool was relaxing and we felt so relaxed and welcomed there. The food was very good, not sure who their pastry chef is but they are incredible. The nightly soup was a delight, each bowl was delicious! The waitstaff were very attentive and nice. We went on two game drives, one in the afternoon and one in the morning - both were amazing in their own right but since it was chilly in the morning - the afternoon drive had more animals out for viewing. But, there were other things about the morning drive that made it special. The guides were awesome and had interesting facts about the animals I had never heard. All in all it was an amazing stay and I would return in a heartbeat!! Great job Mt. Etjo!

This was our third stay at Mount Etjo and just as good as the previous visits. We return for a number of reasons, primarily because the game drives are superb and never disappoint. This time we went on an evening drive and a morning one, both with Job. He was excellent, entertaining, informative and persistent in tracking down the lions, which we really appreciated. I took more than 600 photos on the two drives! The food is excellent and I love the afternoon tea and cakes with the cheeky blue starlings. On previous visits we have had a family room, but with older children we opted for separate twin rooms. The rooms are clean and were perfectly adequate for our two night stay. They could do with updating (my daughter's shower wasn't great), but this is a minor issue. The grounds are lovely and we spent hours sitting and watching the hippos, including a baby hippo, and heaps of wildlife, including elephants and giraffes, at the water hole by the lodge. Absolutely amazing! The staff are always helpful, friendly and strive to make your stay as good as it can be. Compared with four years ago and our last visit, Namibia has become extremely expensive overall, including accommodation, but we knew we would have a great time at Mount Etjo and it didn't disappoint.
