Valamar Amicor Resort

I cannot praise this resort enough! The staff, the villas, the food, everything is exceptional. Initially I was not going to book because it seemed very geared to children and we came without ours but it doesn’t make a difference. After a problem with our hotel in hvar town we relocated here and I am just sad we did not come here first. The bed and pillows are amazing (this is hard to find!) We will definitely return

Our stay has been amazing and we are all sad to go. The service here has been top notch by everyone, but especially by people like Yunanta. He greeted us every day with a smile, went above and beyond to make every part of our stay perfect and we hope he is recognized and appreciated.

the hotel is great and all but why the hell is mold next to my bed.. i was just going to sleep when i took a big sniff and i felt the smell of mold

We stayed a family of 5 for 4 nights in June. This resort is a solid 4 star resort. We stayed in the 40m² 3+2 suite with half board. The suites were thoughtfully designed,it felt spacious. We particularly enjoyed the private fenced outdoor area. The main draw card for families is the pool area, which has fantastic facilities for children of all ages. It is very easy to see your children and supervise them from anywhere in the pool area. There is lots of sun loungers and day beds and we never struggled finding any free spaces. There is only 1 restaurant, but the food was varied and good quality. Valamar Amicor was a great place to stay at Hvar if you want your kids to be happy and get some relaxing in .

Stayed for 4 nights at this resort. Here's what I found.... The rooms are photographed with a camera like estate agents use to give the impression of space, the reality is that the villa's are nowhere near the size that they appear to be online. Rooms are okay, clean and the bed was comfortable, with a very efficient room service. Cardboard coat hangers are provided, but nowhere near enough for more than a couple of outfits. The resort is based on some kind of green objective, which is okay if that is your thing? On site, the entire area is geared for families (and I'm not against that) but there is very little on offer for anyone else on holiday there. The mediteranneo restaurant serves breakfast and evening meal. The breakfast is buffet style, its okay with much on offer. The evening meal however is repetitive, again buffet style, and for me, did not scream of a wow factor. Desert consists of cake, and ....cake ! (I'm not sure if that's a croatian thing ?) and much more variety is needed in this area for certain. A bottle of house wine costs 26 euros, and this is their cheapest offering, in my opinion this is way overpriced for the quality of the product on offer, which did not cause my taste buds to explode! Antony (aka Ante) from the restaurant is a really helpful and radiant guy, and is a real asset to his employer. Staff are mostly all friendly, and cannot do enough for you. There is no on site shop, and I find this very strange for a resort ? Most guests would relish the opportunity to buy gifts and necessary emergency items from an on site shop. I had a room with a jacuzzi, which started making serious noises after the second day, and had to be isolated. To compensate i was offered a 100 euros voucher to spend in the resort, and with an average bottle of non house wine costing around 40 euros, that was not a game changing compensation offer i can assure you, especialy when you consider rooms are costing around the E250/E300 per night mark . The resort offers buggies for less mobile types, which is good, but those, and electric scooters can often be witnessed whizzing around quite fast on site, especially in the evenings. Entertainment consisted of an hour of oom pah pah music with games for children around the pool from 8 until 9pm on selected evenings, again, I don't consider this acceptable for older age groups, there needs to be a proper entertainment programme for all age groups is my feeling here. Resort is spotlessly clean however. Overall from my experience I would give the resort 2 out of 10 points (experience wise) for older guests, with very little else to do but ea and drink, and drinks (namely wine) are at truly shocking prices in house, i know it's a hotel, but come on guys ? 40 euros for a bottle of very mediocre white, is really pushing it i feel. We had a fantastic stay at this famil friendly resort situated in nature, short walk from beautiful beaches. Onsite pool facilities were excellent and kept ourselves and kids entertained throughout the day. Kids club was a highlight with a variety of fun activities that our children absolutely loved. Special thanks to the amazing girls in the kids club who were so caring and enthusiastic (every single one, i dont remembed all names). :-) Food was delicious, wide selection of Mediterranean dishes, along with bbq facility that we enjoyed so much. What made our stay exceptional was the staff. From warm welcome received at reception from Kristina and her male colleague, to the attentive service at the restaurant (Branko and rhe team) and pool (Joakin from Arhentina), everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We highly recommend this resort to families looking for a relaxing and memorable holiday experience. We will be back.
