Hotel Continental

This was our secund stay in this lovley hotel. Everyting was exeptional. Employer at the reception were very helpful ,frendly and pleasent,especially Domagoj. Breakfast was delicious,lot of choices ,nice and fresh food. Diner was exellent. Our hostes at diner-Maria was so plesant and nice and we enjoyed every night in her wonderful presentation,special kids. Room was clean and comfortable,with a spectacular view at the sea. Great value for the money. We really enjoyed our stay and have a plan to comeback again to this lovley hotel.

To cut it short: If you happen to book Hotel Gardenija and at the reception you learn that room # 155 is reserved for you - turn around and walk away ASAP. Long version: BATHROOM - marble doorsill broken off - doorhandle gold coating scratched off - shower tray enamel ruptured in wide areas - toilet, not enough space to wipe your *** if you are right-handed - no repository space at all - radiator coating splintered off, substance rusting - mould in the shower - washstand, wood splintered off - towel hook almost falling from the door - shower head, fitting scratched since O-ring is placed somewhere on the hose instead of the fitting - door frame, strike plane widely torn out (door being kicked in?) ROOM - dust falling down from the airco outlet - mould in the condensation drain of the fridge - two chairs, both seating surfaces covered with stains (what liquids do you think of?) - fridge is entirely turned off (hence the mould), no switch to turn on, no beverage in there, not even a bottle of tab water. You wanna see photos? I send you photos. All of them, if required. For ~ 200 € per night & couple + car a cheeky slap in the face! Oh, and PS: The complex comprises at least three hotels with supposedly several hundred rooms. In case you have a question outside the office hours (like, which of the un-marked elevators to take in order to find back your car in the garage) there will be maximum of one person to address to - in the reception of a different hotel. Reduction of payroll costs at its worst. PPS: The breakfast is very good. Really good.

This hotel is now part of a chain within the Amadria Park group. Our rooms were in the Gardenija section but the dining is in the Hotel Continental, across the terrace. The rooms are old but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were very good. The staff were extremely helpful and so friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Opatija.

Recently visit for site visit for small sports group coming in august. Superb stay . Room are clean comfortable and excellent . Superb restaurant/ cafe / and chocolate factory shop in hotel ! Location excellent close to sea and shops . Staff are super friendly , naturally so , efficient and helpful . Receptionist and lady at breakfast were excellent . I highly recommend and as a Trevor agent I stay in a lot of hotels . Well done a super hotel and great value

Overnighted here. It was my second choice of motel but got lucky. 3 star property which is part of a dual hotel complex with a 4 star hotel (Continental), sharing some facilities. Google maps doesn't give hotels placement justice, about 100m to water and about 300 mtrs to harbour which is ideal if catching a small boat cruise from Opatija. We book sea view room and were upgraded to small 1 bedroom apartment with great views. Late check in was welcoming and professional by lovely receptionist Patricia. Was able to arrange a late check out to 2 pm. Great location in central Opatija

Very friendly staff, the food is an excellent buffet and worthy of praise The hotel is in the best possible location, the whole the hotel is in a rustic style, parking is within the hotel, 20 euros per day. I highly recommend it you will not go wrong with the choice
