Traveling with friends for an event, we booked 3 rooms. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find none of the rooms had a coffee maker. While their listing doesn't specifically list a coffee maker as an amenity, we took for granted there would be one because we have NEVER stayed anywhere that didn't so we don't actually look for that feature. Surprise and disappointment. When we asked at the desk if they have them, we were greeted with a very flippant attitude that they serve coffee in the reception area at 7am, knowing we were there for a Marathon and would be gone long before then. I would not stay here again.

Hummingbird Inn is exactly what you need when you're looking for a quick, no-frills trek out of town. Super and accommodating front desk, amazingly comfortable room, pool (!), coffee in the morning, and wonderful service all around. We were super happy with our stay and will be back.

Very modern hotel to stay at. The views were incredible in the morning. I live the Spanish style they have going on, it was very modern sand clean. The only downside was the bathrooms didn’t have a protective curtain so it would get really wet during showers and the water would come out of the tub.

This place is horrible. We left our vacation early after one night. The bathtub was unsafe and cracked so o couldn’t bathe my daughter in it. The bathtub was also some scary plastic material that we might have fallen through anyhow. That isn’t even the start of this horrible place. They said our room was “renovated” already. That was a joke! I’m not sure who their contractor is, but they should be fired. This place was a sad slap job of awful work. Their were ants in the room. The toilet wasn’t bolted to the wall and rattled every time we went to the bathroom. This is not a 3 star hotel, it’s hardly even a 1 star that can pass a safety inspection. The coffee in the lobby tasted like burnt grounds. The one star is for the nice staff. Pictures of that beautiful bathtub…

Wow ! Where do i start--We had a lower room because we had a dog --no problem there , however , we were below the noisiest family all nite , there obviously is no insulation between floors . Why we paid Hilton price for below motel 6 accommodation , plus a dog fee , for a room that would settle for the "dog" house. We will NEVER stay there again and would not recommend to anyone else .

We stayed in The Double Queen Bungalow room number 14. The pictures ARE NOT HONEST. They purposely made it look WAYYYYYYY BIGGER with manipulative editing of photos. So that’s a VERY Los Angeles slumlord type of thing to to. Exactly what we drove away from but here we are. The bed linens + pillow covers “looked clean” but smelled like stale dirty water + dirt & sweat not being properly cleaned & sanitized off the sheets from PREVIOUS STRANGERS. That was so gross to me. No excuse. I killed 4 spiders throughout the night that I noticed pop up all along my bed! Hell no. The shower didn’t work. We turned it on, it filled up the tub instantly & no matter what way we flipped the old (unmarked) switch for the drain, it WOULD NOT DRAIN. And the bath was clearly not cleaned before we got there as it had small bugs, dirt, dust, and hairs come up to the surface of the water that clogged up the tub. So we had to go back home DIRTY after all our hikes. Gross! The chairs & table right outside our window. FOR OUR BUNGALOW was taken over by three men who literally just rudely took it over while they had their own entire larger table for THEIR BUNGALOW. They LITERALLY FACED OUR WINDOW & had all these devices & phones FACING US. 2 women alone. They also had a big dog that was BARKING (violates policy) that prevented us from being able to take our senior dog outside to the restroom and stayed stuck in our rooms until those men left! Our senior dog turning 17 is THE REASON we came here! That was super disturbing & ugly to me. That’s not very Ojai. I wish the staff could have directed them to their own table but they did nothing. It’s not my job to make sure guests feel safe & have privacy they paid for. I feel like we are owed some of our money back for that but we didn’t want to make it a big deal as it we didn’t want more of our time ruined with possible retaliation or rudeness from the staff. So that’s why I’ll leave this honest review instead. There’s also a dude doing ****** in the open STEPS AWAY FROM YOUR ROOM on the sidewalk across the way. So we are definitely coming back to Ojai but NEVER coming back to this hotel. They need to lower their prices for sure. I feel like they care less about ppl who book less expensive (still too expensive) rooms.

Cute spot! Double room was spacious and simple. Thoughtful, fresh and clean recent renovation made this a nice respite. Little bit of a Sante Fe vibe with its unglazed tiles. Easy check in, good location. Very quiet. Would absolutely stay here if I visit Ojai again in the near future.

This Inn evolved from an old motel with no frills. They have made the best of that and made it even simpler. Not upscale at all, but cheap chic. A clean, spare Santa Fe vibe inside. Quiet location at end of main street. We stayed in a "bungalow", room # 15. Bed was a raised futon style mattress and floor was unglazed tile. Very clean and newly touched up all around. Nice colors. Very minimal, nothing fancy. Comfortable and I would definitely go there again. Nice patio area outside. Adjoins an empty lot so no noise from neighbors. Just what we needed for a short stay. They are making some updates now to other areas. Sadly they lost a huge shade Sycamore which is now being cut and taken away. There's free coffee in the lobby each morning. Nice people run it.
