The Abidah by Accra - Adults Only

I’ve just returned from an incredible two-week holiday at The Abidah, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. First Impressions From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere stood out. Shawndice greeted us on arrival and set the tone for the entire stay with her warmth and attentiveness. She was fantastic throughout, always ready to answer our questions and offer suggestions to make our trip even better. Room Comfort and Amenities Our room was nothing short of spectacular. It was spacious, featuring two double beds, a separate toilet and shower room, and dual vanity sinks. The beds were exceptionally comfortable – a rare occasion where we didn’t miss the comfort of our own bed at home! Dining Experience The food was, quite simply, the best I’ve ever had on a holiday. If your preference leans toward burgers, chips, and pizza, this isn’t the place for you. The à la carte menu was phenomenal, with fresh ingredients and a delectable array of meat and fish dishes. Breakfast and lunch were buffet-style but equally delicious. Mornings were made better with made-to-order omelets and poached eggs. Bar and Drinks Andreah at the bar deserves a special mention for crafting the best rum punches in all of Barbados (and trust me, I tried quite a few across the island!). Pool and Beach The pool area was lovely, with ample loungers always available. The beach, though smaller than usual due to recent storms, was stunning. The sea was rough during our stay, so we spent more time by the pool on non-exploration days. Facilities and Downsides The gym was a bit of a letdown due to a non-functional air conditioning system, making workouts challenging. Additionally, the smallest weights were 5kg, which might not be ideal for everyone. The biggest downside was the limited seating in the evenings. There were no outdoor seating areas for post-dinner drinks and very few indoor options. This meant most guests, including us, ended up retreating to our rooms after dinner. Final Thoughts We specifically chose The Abidah for its boutique size, à la carte dining, location, and lack of evening entertainment. It delivered on all fronts, and we had an amazing time despite minor inconveniences. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful, high-quality getaway!

There still seem to be some bad reviews about this hotel but we would not hesitate in recommending it. Our room was very spacious, well appointed and clean. Everything worked, including the hot tub. One morning the air conditioning broke but this was fixed within an hour. On the same morning the lift also stopped working but maintenance got it fixed within a couple of hours. The pool area is small but we never struggled to get loungers. The food was varied and always delicious. The hotel is quietly situated but in a good location to visit the Oistins Fish Fry on a Friday evening. There is also a bus station there so you can get to most places on the island. The ZR reggae buses pass by frequently if you’re brave enough to take a ride. We took advantage of the shuttle bus to the sister hotel a couple of times and enjoyed our days there. Would recommend the Sunday buffet lunch there, which is accompanied by live music. The beach there is lovely there too, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. From that hotel you can walk along the coastal Richard Haynes Boardwalk (1 mile each way) plus there’s shops and bars nearby. The staff at the Abidah are all very friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a small quiet hotel (44 rooms) this is worth trying and we intend to return.

Had an amazing time staff are so helpful friendly The chef went out of his way as I’m gluten free cooking me personally amazing meals . Food is excellent room lovely big Hot tub slightly annoying as had to keep asking for it to be heated up. Waiter bought us drinks round pool and on the beach and even to my partner who was fishing in front of the hotel couldn’t ask for More . Can’t wait to find another deal so we can come back . I did exercises on the beach with locals at 6am so welcoming can’t local vibe about the area . Did Ositins fish market great fun Plus got up went in local bus 6am on a Sunday saw them take race horses in the swim at pebbles beach .
