We stayed for a single night on our way south and our expectations started out high. The location was great and close to everything (food, trails, etc) and the family room, while small, was everything we needed. The walls were thin so you could hear anyone who was in the hall or in the room next to you and it was kind of dirty. The real reason for my one star is that the next day, my wife was covered in bites on her back, neck, and legs. Upon googling it, we learned that it's very likely to be bed bug bites. All we can hope is that the children didn't get bitten and that we didn't bring back any critters with us.

Stayed in a Signature Cabin, which, in reality, offered no more than a hotel room would have. It offered a deck, with rusted table and chairs and a strange pergola that anyone about 5’10 had to duck under to get to the room, the “private area” in front of the cabin was not gated and could be seen in by anyone entering the hotel via the main courtyard, so we had to have the curtains closed for any privacy. When we arrived and in the advert, we were told that daily housekeeping was complimentary (whatever that means), yet no one came to turn over our room once. Cleanliness was, however, our main concern, with dirty floors, garnished with a filthy rug and thick dust under the bed. BLACK MOULD: the bathroom ceiling had black mould, see photos attached. The kitchen drawers had crumbs inside, so it left us wondering how clean the dinnerware was. The air conditioning is an evaporative standalone air conditioner that does not work. Overall, for $700 for 4 nights, this WAS NOT worth it. Very, very disappointed.

The four of us stayed here while visiting Ohakune. Our shared room was clean, tidy, nicely minimalist decorated but very compact. Not much space. Shower low pressure at peak use time in the evening. Bunk beds creaky and felt unstable. Felt small for an adult to sleep on even though we specified 4 adults in our booking. Windows and doors were not sound proof and we could hear trucks and traffic passing by and people talking outside the corridor. We made use of the communal kitchen and lounge area which was a plus. The hearty breakfast provided in the cafe as part of our accommodation was good and worthwhile as part of the price. Service was good and friendly.

We stayed in an en-suite cabin, one of four located at the back of the lodge on the edge of the car park. It’s basically a tin shed with a wooden porch but inside it’s clean and bright and somehow they manage to fit everything you need into this small space including a kitchenette with mid-size fridge & microwave and a small sofa. The supply of mini jars of various teas, coffee & cocoa was a nice touch. I especially want to thank Nathalie for staying late at the bar to let us in when our arrival was delayed.

Snow man spa and massage was absolutely fantastic. Experience staff who made you feel relaxed and comfortable. Would recommend this to anyone living here or visiting. A hidden gem. Excellent package deals which you can purchase for yourself or makes the perfect gift 🎁. Definitely going back.

We, 3 people, stayed here for 1 night. The room was smallish, and although it was comfortable the walls were paper thin and we could hear EVERYTHING from surrounding rooms. Although it served it's purpose for a single night we wouldn't do well staying here any longer, so we wouldn't stay here again.
