I requested a refund to Trip.com.
It has not solved yet.
I booked the room last minutes at 10pm because that was the closest hotel from my friend’s house where I attended a birthday gathering. Instead of driving back home in Los Angeles, I decided to stay in a hotel which I told the front desk personnel when I checked in. I chose Ramada assuming that it would be a decent accommodation.
I entered the room, A/C was on, and the room smelled bad. I tried to ignore since it was so late, yet I could not sleep and called to the front desk. The personnel stated that they just deep cleaned that room, the carpet might’ve been still wet, that's why it smelled. I asked him a refund. He told me that he would check the another available room and if the room did not smell (he said that room was also deep clearned as well), he would call me. He did not. It was already midnight and I had no choice but stayed.
He said he would leave a note for the morning shift personnel. In the morning, the front desk personnel apologized me and told me that the owner would contact me on Mobday. I left a note to the owner and obtained a photo copy of it.
As a Ramada group hotel, they should not sell any room with that condition to anyone.
