Having read reviews of the Teardrop properties we chose to spend Christmas as a family at Goatfell. We had extremely high expectations and were still blown away! From Christmas Eve canapés around the fire pit to the most delicious hoppers on Christmas morning (they were the best on our whole trip). A tea infused dinner on Christmas Day, hikes, bikes, beauty and escapism, Goatfell offers the most spoiling, relaxing retreat. Simply amazing—I truly can't find the words to fully describe how we felt during our stay at Goatfell. The best way I can express it is this: we felt like newborn babies, lovingly cared for by parents. Your team was more than just staff; they felt like our guardians, ensuring our comfort and happiness every moment of the day. From the moment we woke up until we went to sleep, the Goatfell team was there, attentively taking care of our every need. As a hotelier myself, I strive to secure the best experiences for my friends and family when I travel and can be quite particular. Yet, Goatfell exceeded every expectation and left no stone unturned. It was simply the best experience I’ve had. Every single team member deserves commendation for their dedication and warmth. Thank you once again for making our stay unforgettable.

Down a long drive, not for the faint hearted, we arrived at Goatfell, a true home from home style hotel, with only 4 guest rooms. Our room was beautiful and included a lovely cot for our 9 month daughter. The location is quite remote so we spent the 2 days walking and relaxing in the grounds, rather than driving reasonable distances to local activities. The food was incredible and offered a great selection of local delicacies as well as international dishes. We love the fact that lots of the vegetables and herbs were grown in their gardens. The staff were all wonderful, welcoming and very happy to help with any request… including washing numerous bottles for our daughter. We would certainly recommend Goatfell to anyone wanting a relaxing break surrounded by beautiful scenery.

What an incredible experience. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in the most beautiful, serene surroundings. The inside of the bungalow is calm and comfortable with a roaring log fire, comfy blankets, and an array of delicious food and drinks. Outside changes all the time, sitting on the veranda watching the clouds move over the mountains can pass the hours away. It is a very special place, the staff, Deva, Askar, and Chef Pradeep are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait to come back, two nights was not enough. I travelled here with my 17 year old daughter and 11 year old.son, both enjoyed it as much as I did.

Quite frankly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, unfortunately we were only there for two nights. It rained whilst we were there, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about this but the sitting room fire was lit, when we went to bed there hot water bottles in the bed and if we needed it a heater plus blankets (we didn't). It didn't rain all the time and after the madness of Kandy and humidity this was a welcome break. The staff are amazing, you could not fault them in any way including the fab tuk tuk driver who took us in the pouring rain to a tea plantation, if you stay here you'll understand. The food, just wonderful. We were even given a take away breakfast after leaving early to get the train. It was much to the envy of other passengers! The views are amazing from the infinity pool, yes we did get in it whilst it was raining. But towels, dressing gowns and slippers are provided so very easy to get warm after a dip. You can have a walk around the estate with their app, they will lend you a phone if saving on the data roaming! I would happily stay here even in the rain for longer, it is such a wonderful place and the staff are just brilliant and I thank them all for making our stay a delightful experience. We stayed in six different hotels whilst in Sri Lanka including another one in the teardrop group which was also very good but this one was just wonderful.

After a long round-Sri Lanka trip this is the place where I'd like to come back to spend a longer time. The staff, the food, the attention to detail (like the hot water bottle for the cold night) was amazing. We had a cold day when the place was in the clouds and I'd love to come and spend a day at the pool in the immaculate garden.
