We chose Iberostar Royal Andalus as our base during our wedding holiday in Chiclana, and overall it was a lovely experience. We stayed here along with around 30-40 of our wedding guests, many of whom booked based on our recommendation. The hotel itself is beautiful—spotlessly clean, with great food and lovely facilities. The pools are a real highlight, with a vibrant kids' pool on one side and a quieter, more relaxing pool on the other, which was perfect for our group. We booked a family room for the three of us, which was spacious and had a great view. Our guests were all very complimentary about the hotel, especially the beachfront access and general atmosphere. That said, we were a little disappointed that, despite the reception team being aware we were celebrating our wedding and having helped with a few things, there was no acknowledgment of the occasion in our room—no card, flowers, or even a simple “congratulations.” While we weren’t expecting anything lavish, a small gesture would have been appreciated, especially as five of our guests were unexpectedly upgraded to two-bedroom suites, despite us (the bride and groom!) not receiving one ourselves. Additionally, our room wasn’t cleaned on the day of the wedding, which was quite disheartening to come back to after such a special day. In summary, we had a great stay and the hotel delivered in terms of location, food, and cleanliness. Our guests enjoyed their time here immensely. However, a bit more attention to the occasion would have made our experience truly exceptional.

Iberostar Waves Royal Andalus Pools Absolutely freezing & quite frankly impossible to swim in as they were so cold. There are 2 pools here. 1 with children's slides etc that has a bar & the other which is the the opposite side adults pool although i dont believe to be adult only. The adult side is deathly quiet with no music whatsoever. The opposite side with the children's slides has some music coming from the bar. Plenty of sun loungers & we never once had a problem getting one either. Bars There were 2 bars one in the lobby one as mentioned above by the children's pool. Both served branded drinks which is good for a hotel of this standard but the bar people always drowned the spirit in either tonic & whatever mixer which meant that the the drink wasnt as good as it could have been. Bar staff were generally good but even when you asked for a smaller version or less tonic/lemonade you always got the same as previous. Rooms Our room was excellent we has a priority room which was a of a good size with a sea view. Decent shower, fridge & air con which I am not sure if it was run centrally but always seemed to default back to 22 degrees. The cleaner Charli was excellent always leaving a note for us to have a good day. Food I thought the food was very good even including things that I would expect of a hotel of this level. On the night we arrived there was lobster which I never expected. Normally I think that with breakfast you can never go wrong but I thought the cooked section was probably the worst I have ever experienced. I expected English sausages at least one day during the week but had to put up with bratwurst & vegan sausage every day instead. I never went in the buffet which I thought had some bizarre opening times (11-1.30 & 4-6.30). We went in the Star Cafe as we were all Inclusive & had the same things 3 days on the trot & bizarrely was charged the 3rd day but not the first 2... The Star Cafe was good to fill a gap if you didn't want to go in the buffet plus it had a nice outdoor section. Entertainment Live music every night in the lobby bar. Mostly Spanish people actually playing live music. As good as I have ever seen for a hotel of this level. Animation Team The animation team were excellent as people but I have never been to a hotel that doesn't have aqua aerobics & water polo. I think that this is mainly because a) the water is so cold & b) there are so many golfers in the hotel that it can be quite empty during the day. Bingo was fun at 5pm with Luis though. There is a lovely beach outside the hotel which goes on for miles. I think potentially it could be the best beach I have ever been on but with it being so quiet it seemed so underused. I think that the hotel is an excellent choice of hotel for the price point we paid & the branded drinks & lobster definitely punched above the hotels weight. Would I go back? Well anyone who knows me knows that I don't go back to the same hotel twice but if I did I don't think I would go back.

We are currently staying here. Beautifully clean and tidy - lots of staff on reception. Our massive issue which is such a shame is our room. On the beach we booked with - 3 x sea view double however we’ve got no sea view. Been told it’s not hotels problem and we need to sort it with our provider. Sadly not impressed also asked to be near kids pool but been placed on opposite side. Sadly hotel has lots of great things but we wouldn’t return on this basis 😢
