Scilla Maris Charming Suites

Our stay at Scilla Maris was remarkable! The hosts are not only super friendly and provide a lovely breakfast, they are also warmhearted and love being hosts. Ilaria is a fantastic chef and thus we several times enjoyed having a Sicilian dinner at Scilla Maris (they also serve very good local wines like Etna Bianco, Grillo..) The rooms are spacious and climatized, the beds are very comfortable.

We stayed three nights at Scilla Maris and used it as a basis to see Noto, Marzamemi and to try the beach one day. It was very nice and calm in there, and easy to reach all those places in short time. The restaurant, though a separate business, was incredible, so I recommend to try it; we went through half their menu during out stay, the chef is creative and can really cook (we love good food, and this place was an unexpected surprise). The staff were all lovely, and even the owner’s lovely dogs were really friendly! Sicily is not exactly my favorite destination, but if I go back, I will make sure to stay at Scilla Maris again!

Property is old and needs maintenance. Road to get there is dirt with many stones and rubbish so we had a flat Tire on rented car. Swimming pool is cold and it’s very windy there so not possible to swim before hot summer. Nothing is nearby is the only restaurant is in the hotel extremely overpriced portions are very small and the quality of food is not good at all. It was not good value for money and we will never be back

Scilla Maris is a beautiful and peaceful place where you can really relax and enjoy the Sicilian atmosphere. Our bedroom - the Lentischio suite - was absolutely wonderful. The mezzanine bedroom, sitting room and bathroom were all well-designed, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Bed, pillows, bed/bath linen, beach towels - all excellent quality. Just like the interior, the exterior is also very attractive. The planting is stunning: different varieties of cactus, including the prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica!!) and Mediterranean herbs everywhere. The pool and the area around it are also beautiful. If you want to swim lengths, it's a perfect 18 metres long. For a more leisurely approach, there are ample sunbeds under gazebos or carob trees for pool-side relaxation. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and staff alike, all of whom were on hand to answer all our questions, and help us with local information - for example visits to beaches and wineries. And also for whenever we needed a bottle of wine or a beer by the pool. Scilla Maris is the perfect getaway - whether you want to relax in comfort, peace and beauty or whether you want to nip off to the beach nearby or the winery next door, or visit stunning Noto or cute Marzamemi. If you need to be ignored and petulant staff this is the place for you! Food is great, but the testosterone from the staff is almost palpable the staff -nice space shame about the attitude.. needs some repair as bit’s falling apart…

Quest'anno io e mio marito abbiamo deciso di fare un tour in Sicilia e come prima tappa abbiamo scelto Noto e il Scilla Maris...beh che dire ...abbiamo iniziato alla grande. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi da questa location così curata in ogni piccolo dettaglio...dal profumo che aleggiava nella nostra stanza arredata in modo ricercato e raffinato ...stanza con patio privato immerso nel verde affacciato sulla piscina comune anche se devo dire goduta sempre in totale tranquillità....Dalla Colazione ricca e di ottima qualità.Ci è anche capitato di volerci fermare per cena e prontamente Ilaria ci ha coccolato con piatti tipici Siciliani cenando con luce soffusa e musica in sottofondo....DIREI SUPER TOP!!!!
