This Travelodge is in a great location for sightseeing and shopping in the city. It's an easy walk from the hotel to the Castle, Cathedral, City Centre shops and the market. The hotel is on a main road and the back of the hotel overlooks the main Norwich bus station. This is noisy from early morning until late into the evening. My room was at the back of the hotel and despite the hot weather, I couldn't have the window open to allow air in as the noise was not conducive to peaceful relaxation or sleep. The hotel is clean and the reception staff are welcoming and friendly. Parking is expensive in the adjacent NCP car park but it is convenient. The bar/cafe is like a factory cafeteria. It is not somewhere you would like to go to enjoy a drink. I wanted to eat there on my last evening but despite their only being a woman and two children in there when I went in just after 6pm, I was told that there would be a wait of at least 40 minutes for a hot main meal. It appeared that there was only one person covering the bar and kitchen. She was not welcoming or helpful apart from warning me that it would be a long wait if I wanted to eat there. Luckily, the hotel is so well located that there were multiple options for eating in the city with easy walking distance. This is a shame though as the hospitality sector is generally struggling financially. I was keen to support the hotel by eating in but was discouraged from doing so by the negative attitude of a staff member and utilitarian decor of the hotel bar/cafe.

Stayed for 3 nights this week. Room was lovely and clean (no cobwebs or spiders which was a real bonus!), bed was large and very comfortable. Lovely to have the bed made up with just a sheet but a duvet also in the room if needed. There was a fan in the room and a hairdryer could be asked for at reception. The only downside for me is that there was no mat in the bath, which always makes me a bit uneasy, though there was a handle fixed to the wall. Yes it overlooks the bus station but you can’t really hear much when the windows are closed.

The hotel room itself was nice. The issue was with the service in the ‘restaurant/bar’. The bar person, Pamela, seemed unable to u sweat and orders from the very limited order and when I had to repeat the order for the third time, threatened to not serve me. There was a bell on the counter to get service attention if staff were not present but after I used it to get Pamela’s attention, she removed it so the the next customer was waiting for ages u till u used a spoon against a dirty sundae dish as a makeshift device. When the food did arrive, her attitude was awful and the chicken in my son’s curry was raw. My advice…. Make your orders clear, consider and be prepared to be barred if you don’t meet the staffs expectation!

My first time staying at this hotel, I was greeted by the most friendly and pleasant manager (Nalene) the building itself needs cleaning from the outside although the hotel needs to upgrade it is clean and the staff are all polite. Zuzann in the bar cafe was very helpful. I will be coming back and I will recommend to my friends

Me and my wife use this travelodge on a frequent basis and always enjoy our stay The manager ( nalene) is always happy to assist as is all the other staff Housekeeping is of a high standard and Eva in Housekeeping is always happy to help with any needs in the room.

Everything was good,would come again. Brilliant location,within easy walking distance of the City Centre and the Bus Station is situated just behind the Hotel.

Location is great, just at the exit of Norwich bus station. It is nearby the Chantry Place Mall, resto and cafe, and just in walking distance to Norwich Market. Room and its facilities are clean and comfy.

Had occasion to stay in Norfolk for a couple of nights and Norwich was the most practical solution. The Travelodge is fairly well placed on the edge of the main shopping area, making most of the city centre easily accessible. The bus depot is immediately behind the hotel, so public transport further afield is also easily accessible. The train station is about 15 mins walk, so not something you want to be doing if you have a lot of bags. The hotel does not have it's own car park, but instead recommends the neighbouring NCP car park where prices vary up to a max of £13 for a 24 hour period. Whilst I didn't go out of my way to check, it was not clear as to whether the car park was readily accessible to wheelchair users, so if this is important, it would be worth checking with NCP. If you've stayed in a Travelodge previously, you will know what to expect from the rooms: Clean tidy and functional. Buffet breakfast is available for £10.75 per adult and includes various cereal, fruit and cooked items. Evening meals are available, but I didn't try those. Naturally, being in the city meant plenty of alternate eateries in close proximity to the hotel. Foks who are light sleepers might note that being in the centre, the area can be a bit noisy, especially with the bus depot at the rear. Overall, the stay was good. Staff were excellent, food (well, breakfast :) ) was fine and location is great for seeing Norwich.

My wife and I stayed here for one night as we went to the Norwich Theatre Royal to see The Rocky Horror Show. The room was very clean and tidy, with tea and coffee provided in the room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Our room was on the 4th floor and overlooked the bus station. Nice views over the surrounding area. We had prebooked for breakfast and weren't disappointed. The meal was hot and fresh with plenty to eat. Overall, a nice hotel to stay in for a few days. We left our car at home and went to Norwich by bus from where we live. The bus station is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, so it was perfect for us.
