Shumba Valley Lodge

Well I thought i would send my complaint to the them directly but guess what their e-mail address bounces...fancy that. So below is the complaint. But after reading the reviews, I see you get standard reply and probably nothing after that. Good day I want to express my utter disappointment with your lodge. It was our friend's wedding anniversary, and we decided to help them celebrate by giving them a night away at your lodge because I had such a good experience there a few years back. They checked in on Saturday but the feedback was horrific. They were in number 132 - after requesting to be close to the pool and also being told the unit was close to the pool. Below is a list of what they experienced in their unit. · Beds were uncomfortable · Old blood on 1 pillow · Aircon did not work · Only 3 channels on TV · Shower window was very dirty · Bedside lamp was broken · Toilet not flushing properly · Loud music all night · Couldn't sleep at all · Shower only had 1 setting which was freezing cold I should have read the reviews before recommending your establishment to them....will not make that mistake again.

I am so dissatisfied with the service we received at Shumba Valley Lodge (Lanseria) on Saturday the 14th Sept, our check in time was 2pm and when we arrive at 14:20 we were told our room is not ready yet and we were given an alternative. the receptionist was running around as if she's not sure what she was doing, trying to assist a couple infront of us which seemingly their room was also not ready and at the same time assisting us. The pillows were so flat that we woked up with stiffy necks. we slept with a bed cover only because we couldn't stand the stench coming from the blanket. The Funiture is old and not so clean, the plan was to have breakfast there but after all that we experience we couldn't take a risk, had to drive out for breakfast. the only thing we enjoyed on our stay it was a pool. that place has potential if management can start respecting the guests by making sure they receive the value for their money, buy proper pillows and provide clean towels and blankets.

This was the worst weekend out ever. Walked in the room as a non smoker walking in room witch ppl was smoking in was bad very bad could not sleep at all could not handel that at all. But yes walked in an the room smel was bad struggled to put tv on you could see hardly anything at all it was so bad. We went to reseption and complained about it they said they would look at it instead of moving us to a nother room they just sprayed sent in the room witched help not one bit we even left the door open and windows for couple hours it dit nothing to it. I was told that all rooms are non smoking. The tv was not fixed at all. The only thing that was good was the food. O yes in there ad says full gym really every thing falling apart and could see no cleaning go on at all there. Its a real pitty all places around us are NOT been managed at all. This was sepose to be my 10th wedding aniv but it turned out to be a bad weekend. NEVER AGAIN it was a night mare my chest now in bad shape because of that room.

Checkin slow as she spent time trying to find staff that were not where they should be. Internet did not work despite saying connected - used all my mobile data. Difficult to get Uber because of entrance gate hassles. Wall plug faces missing. Room amenities too basic - 1 tea bag two cups?
