Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge

Incredible staff and food! The room is gorgeous and clean. They pay great attention to details. Loved seeing flowers on the bed. It was great to come into such a relaxing space after being out on the safari for a few days. It's a bit of a drive from the airport but so so so worth it. Excited to return and stay longer.

Lounge very nice and good food. Only stayed one night. The staff is very friendly and observant. Big bonfire in the evening was very special and gave the evening a magical twist. Can absolutely recommend and take a dip in the pool… it is “fresh” 😄

We stayed here on our first night on honeymoon before we began our safari… the room was comfy and practical, beautifully presented when we arrived! The grounds are lush and there’s a walking trail around the complex where you can see monkeys! The food was beautiful, and the staff friendly and helpful, all round an excellent start to our stay!

This was a beautiful place with excellent food and over the top service! The rooms are very beautiful, and the bed was great! If you have time, I would really recommend a massage with Grace! She was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful to a great trip in Tanzania❤️

Moivaro Lodge was the first stop on our two-week tour of Tanzania with Overseas Adventure Travel. Beautiful, comfortable, great service and excellent food. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were greeted with a choice of fruit juices.

For those reading this post, I want you to realize how the star system works. 5 stars in Africa is not the same as 5 stars in America. You have to realize that in Tanzania they do not necessarily have the same resources as wealthier nations do. I take this into account and gladly give Moivaro Lodge a 5 star rating. It's location is down a very rough road on the back end of Arusha but do not let that fool you. This is a beautiful lodge with very well appointed rooms. I was there on 2 separate occasions and there are units that are a little older that only offer a shower in the bathroom but some of the newer units also have a tub. There are no phones or tvs in the units but that was fine by me. The beds use a memory foam style mattress that is very comfortable. I happen to sell mattresses so I am particularly picky. There is a beautiful walking trail that circles the entire facility. They have a pool and sundeck area but it is just common. The restaurant area is all open air with a beautiful view of the front lawn and the monkey family that live there in the trees. They have a small lounge which serves every drink you can think of. The food is excellent. I must say that their food and their buffets rival many in North America that I have frequented. Don't forget the gift shop. It is kind of hidden but they have a really great selection of products at very reasonable prices. If I am not mistaken, some of their hand made items are created by and support the empowerment of local women. They have great security here as well. I challenge you to try to get to your room at any time during the night without a man escorting you with a flashlight. One last thing. They have excellent wifi in the lodge and depending on your chalet location, you may get it to work in your room as well.
