Newton House

Great location, hotel offers good clean spacious rooms and a great breakfast at a good price. The staff are really friendly and the access to the Tissongton Trail is great.

For many years I've been using Newton House Hotel near Ashbourne as a location for our walking holidays. The hotel is perfectly located for walkers wanting to explore the White Peak area of the Derbyshire Peak District. Dovedale is easily reachable, and there are numerous small villages close by. Newton House provides all that is needed by walkers and travellers, be it comfortable beds, polite and professional staff, and in our case, hearty breakfast and filling evening meals after a day on the trail. Our latest visit was a group of 12 who all had single occupancy, and all appeared to be happy with their room's amenities. Ross, the manager has only recently taken over management of the hotel, but has already stamped his mark by adding improvements like better access to the A515. Currently the hotel are revamping their website, so don't be put off by not being able to view it.

Lovely hotel. Greeted by friendly host. The room was warm, comfortble and clean. Comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. Although they do not offer an evening there are many options nearby. This hotel deserves to be busier as it is really ideal.

Warm, friendly and genuine staff. Stunning location. Beautiful room. We were very well looked after and our pooches were split rotten too! The breakfast was incredible, our room was more than we could have asked for. Fantastic in every way!

Adequate in good location for Derbyshire visits An adequate base for a visit to Ashbourne and beyond into Derbyshire. A bit tired and dated, but provides everything you need. No view, only one small window over the kitchen sink, facing the courtyard car park and road beyond. Other windows are skylights.Be prepared for the farmyard smells, cattle sheds are immediately behind. We'd use again for a short break,but nothing longer.

Nice area near walking trail. Room was ok, a little dated but clean.Hosts very friendly and helpful and cooked full english breakfast to order.Next to a cow farm, ok if you are not averse to farming smells
