Barrowfield Hotel

Just returned from an enjoyable 4 night stay at the Barrowfield with Daish's coach holidays. The hotel was warm & clean with a cosy atmosphere. Meals were varied & of reasonable quality & well presented. Service was good although staff shortages meant a slight wait for meals at times but that was only a minor issue. Nightly entertainment with bingo & quiz added to a good value all round holiday.

Visited on a coach trip. Enjoyed the week overall- staff were very helpful and friendly. Think it would have been better to have 2 sittings for meals as food was often not hot enough and would have been good to have fresh vegetables not frozen. The Entertainment Room was not big enough for the number of guests and not really warm enough. 1 evening we could not find a seat anywhere not even in foyer. We were however very comfortable and warm in our room.

Our first time with Daish's holidays . Our first time to Barrowfield Hotel. Had the best time, hotel was lovely, friendly helpful staff, nice clean rooms. Good was always nice and hot plenty of choice. Entertainment every night and the acts were brilliant. Definitely worth a visit.

Travelled by Daish coach, which arrived on time and was clean comfortable and driven by a helpful and friendly driver who made several comfort breaks at service stations. Our luggage was removed from the coach at the hotel by the driver and porters and placed outside our rooms which was a massive help. Our rooms were immaculately clean and warm, beds were comfortable , and en suite facilities excellent. Breakfast was at 8.30 am with unlimited choices and dinner was at 6.30 pm again with plenty of choice. The waitresses were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The dining room was really clean and food was attractively presented. There was plenty of really comfortable seating in the bar area and drinks were reasonably priced. Evening entertainment was good on all nights with Bingo, quiz, music and dancing. The swimming pool was small but again immaculately clean and warm open from 7 am. We took public buses from outside the hotel to Truro and Newquay town centre, and from a nearby hotel to Padstow. Fares were £3 each way unless you had free seniors passes. There was a Tesco express 5 minutes away for munchies etc . Each room had a modern tv and tea and coffee facilities. Only issue was there was only one lift which held 2 people, but even so we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes and the stairs were convenient for people without disabilities. Many thanks to all staff. A well managed hotel.

The travel arrangements where altered had to go from Wolverhampton to Exeter to change coaches after being assured that it was to pick passengers up. At the hotel Barrowfield the lift catered for 2 people only this delayed us getting to our room.and getting to breakfast (our age restricted us from using stairs) The food was good that is when you got it service was poor due to staff shortage .Floor boards creaked both rooms each side of us as well as our own Saturday 2 drinks nothing special £5 plus Sunday same drinks £6 plus ＞The bar prices I think are high After a number of years going to the Barrowfield we will NOT be going again.Things have not improved from last year. ＜

Our twin room was small and dirty, bathroom had broken mastic around the sink and toilet. There was no hot water for the length of our stay, we reported it everyday but the hotel has denied we did, luckily our travel rep was a witness to our complaints. The hotel was grubby in the communal areas and the food definitely left a lot to be desired. It’s the fact the hotel will not take responsibility that is reprehensible
