Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Iberia-Avery Island

Stayed here the night before a little out of town work on the coast. The hotel is in very good shape. Check-in was easy and with no frills. My room was spotless, and the bed very comfortable. I slept through the night and had an adequate breakfast with good coffee in the morning before heading out. I certainly would stay again. Access to the hotel requires alert driving: US90 in this area is undergoing serious construction and there are many closed lanes and detours for access on and off the road. There are some decent chain restaurants nearby; local cuisine a little further into town.

Their faulty lock system had me locked out of my room for hours. I was headed down stairs to check out and went to grab a cart for my luggage a few feet away. When I came back, my key wouldn't work. I headed downstairs and after 2 more trips between my room and their front desk, they finally decided to troubleshoot. I almost missed an important event I drove 8 hours to attend. Thankfully one of their employees drove me at my request. Also, the door on the bathroom wouldn't close without creating a tremendous amount of noise. I'd paid with credit card and some miles. They refuse to refund instead they've offered me a night's stay in the future...fat chance that I would ever stay there again.

Stayed there overnight before a woman retreat. Convenient location. Room was clean except the dirty towel left in the tub area. I would stay there again though. Friendly helpful staff, It was 2 women but did feel save

This was a clean, convenient place for us to stay while doing many activities in the area. I love their breakfast with the pancake machine. Great invention for hotels that offer breakfast rather than the messy waffle machines that most places have

The best place to stay in the area compared to everyone else! The staff is very friendly. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. You can tell it’s a newer hotel. Breakfast each morning is great and other snacks/drinks are available for purchase at front desk. No complaints here! 😊

I do not know why this facility is so expensive. The bathroom had a wide-open electrical junction box. This open box was at eye level, adjacent to the bathroom mirror. The sink drain stopper did not work. The bathroom was too dark, for me, to shave safely in. There were but two sets of towels. The WIFI was terrible. There were neither USB or 110V outlets on/near the desk. Nice sheets and mattress. However, we had to remake the beds as the sheets were not installed correctly. We would stay here again, if the cost was reasonable.

WARNING if you want to feel safe do not stay here, Parking Lot is unsafe and Holiday Inn management does not care. Multiple cars damaged and left undrivable and "not our problem" response from Management,

This is an excellent property that has just recently (very recently apparently) been totally renovated. This property is very clean, parking at front of property is easy and well lit. The lobby and breakfast area is well lit, clean, comfortable and inviting. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were all consistently friendly and helpful. Our room (331) was obviously just renovated (in fact some fixtures still had markings on them from installation). Our room with two queen beds was well sized, bathroom with full tub/shower. Maid service was very good. Breakfast at the property was above expectations for a property of this type and the breakfast attendant was very good and friendly. All in all an excellent stay, would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in rm 330; a king room for one night. One half of the lobby area was undergoing renovation and was covered with plastic sheeting and sheet rock. Our room had the smell of chalk, until our senses got used to it. The room had recently been renovated-new carpet, daybed chair, room lighting, (and a spectacular new bathroom sink, mirror and vanity lighting-the best we've seen recently). Loved the sink area! The bed was comfortable, and sockets allowed for easy bedside cell phone recharging. However.... the individual switches for the bed wall lights were on the far side from the bed, so you can't turn them off while lying in bed. The daybed chair wasn't comfortable, so we didn't use it. And with a blank wall in the bathroom, you would think someone would think just where the used hand towels are going to hang if the hooks behind the door are used to hang clothes? No one wants to lay hand towels on the sink counter. Opportunities lost. We were so exhausted, we didn't notice the road noise when we checked in, but both woke early due to the heavy truck traffic the next morning. The hotel is parallel to the adjacent highway, and room 330 is on the highway side.
