For more ferry adventures, the ferry also goes from Southport to Bald Head Island. Under 2 miles to the Kure Beach Pier. Close to many great restaurants! Carolina Beach State Park nearby. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk including amusement rides, seasonal live music, weekly fireworks, fun shopping and seaside restaurants is just a few miles away. Four wheel drive on the beach at Freeman Park. Boat charters, beach gear and outdoor equipment rentals also near by. Lots of fun for the whole family! WALKING: Short walk to the beach using the private beach access path directly across the street. Fort Fisher State Recreation Area has easy hiking trails and is a 1 mile walk from Ocean Dunes. BIKING: Portions of Fort Fisher Blvd has a bike lane. Ride to Kure Beach Pier just under 2 miles from Ocean Dunes. Or take the scenic ocean path to Fort Fisher State Historic Site & Museum. DRIVING: Pleasure Island and all surrounding areas are car friendly. Cars are welcome on the Ferry. FLYING: Wilmington International Airport is located 23 miles from Ocean Dunes. RESPECTFUL REMINDERS: No pets, no smoking, no parties. FYI’s: Exterminating Service: Exterminating treatments are a necessary service at Ocean Dunes. They are scheduled to occur on Tuesday or Wednesday of the second week of each month. We inform all our guests in the event that the service is off schedule and may occur any week. The technician will knock. If you are in the condo, please allow access. If you are not there, the technician will enter to provide service. Service takes less than 5 minutes, and the technician will leave a note if he/she entered in your absence. Grilling: There are charcoal grills available for your use. Charcoal or gas grills are only to be used in the parking areas and need to be at least 20 feet from the building. No grills are to be used on any decks or underneath carports. Electric Charges: No extension cords are permitted to charge golf carts/cars/or other electrical items. Useful Items: Parking passes and recreation passes are in the condo for you. There are beach chairs and a few beach items in the outside closet labeled 3C. The key to this closet is in the starfish box hanging on the left side wall passed the first bedroom. All items used are at your own risk.
