The Singh Empire,New Delhi City Centre

We booked Empire Platinum Suites for our first four nights in Delhi and on arrival were moved next door to the Singh Empire due to building work. No hassle, no drama, no problem. Staff were friendly and a welcome sight after a long journey and the hectic traffic at 2am from the airport. Our room wasn't quite as described (due to the hotel move) so when we mentioned this the next day, staff quickly offered us a room similar to the booking. We could see they were very busy and trying to accommodate us. On our second day it was our wedding anniversary and staff very willingly and kindly decorated our room for us. The hotel is a three minute walk to New Delhi Station and the street outside is wonderfully busy 247. The location is great. We DID feel safe walking on the main street, probably the side streets too if we had. Tuc tucs are cheap and everywhere. The real sights, sounds and smells of Delhi hit you every time you open the hotel door (but surely that's what you came to Delhi for?) A true, safe and affordable first experience of India's bustling capital.

The room was small but the bed was comfortable. The towels were dirty and we had a very poor sound insulation which was a problem due to the 24/7 trafic in this street. The restaurant was dilapidated but the food was fine. The big surprise happened at the check-out when the manager took my cell phone, opened the Booking app and gave to his hotel a 5 stars rating without my permission...

Good hotel, very nice Staff, accommodating and helpful. Especially Rajib who was always there when we needed him, performed cleaning to the highest standard, very proactive, friendly, talkactive and polite. Hotel situated nearby railway, which is a plus. Breakfasts greasy for me, yet variety was a plus.

I recently stayed at a lovely small hotel located in the heart of Delhi, and it was very nice experience. The staff were helpful and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The rooms were clean. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to both Paharganj and the New Delhi Metro Station. The breakfast served was delicious and provided a great start to each day. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to all travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, not expensive and well-located stay in Delhi.

I’ve been client from June 6 to June 14. However this hotel was such a disaster that I decided to leave earlier, two days before despite having already paid for the bill. So first of all, important to note that at the reception the guy only asked me to modify the dates of my booking, so he would be charged less. I of course refused, since I wouldn’t be refunded. Basically this is my experience: - When I arrived, I’ve been correctly received by one people who kindly helped me to withdraw money from an ATM. Please note that you will be charged 1200 roupies for the trip from the airport to the hotel, where as calling Uber will cost you approximately 3 times less. - The soft that you will get is something like a soda or redbull. - The room I was initially given didn’t have any A/C working. After one day I was moved to another room, which was cleaned only one time out of six days despite me requesting up to the manager. - There was a smell of toxicity in the room that seemed to be in the whole floor. Never got an explanation of what was happening. - My mistake: breakfast wasn’t included in the booking, however I was never reminded. Also, when charging the breakfast the reception tried to charge me again for the trip from the airport to the hotel. Their mistake. - So much noise: People shouting at 02:00 AM. - The gym is very small, but works. - Location is really bad, super crowded. You will get ages to move from any place to there. - Electricity falling down approximately every 30 minutes for a few days. Manager said that it was a problem everywhere in Delhi, but that’s not true. - Breakfast is average. Not good, but not bad I think I would rather sleep outside than going back to this “Empire”. A disaster.
