Hotel Al-Andalus

Excellent location in terms of being close to Nerja caves. Good breakfast. Reasonable price.

Only went for restaurant as staying elsewhere. Had lunch. Extremely reasonable prices. Good choice. Our meals were excellent, and big portions for what we paid. Very good service. We had been walking from Maro to Torre de Maro, and felt that if you stayed in this hotel a car may be necessary though buses run from very close by.

We had been promising ourselves a visit to the stunning Nerja caves for several years and eventually decided on the Hotel Al-Andalus as our base. This 3* Hotel is perfectly located for such a visit, being only a 5 minute walk from the Cave's entrance (it's wise to pre-book entry online), and it's conveniently close to the (shielded) motorway, although this results in some traffic noise. Guests wishing to visit the main part of town/Balcon de Europa should note that it is c.10/15 minutes by car. The Hotel has ample free parking, a pool, a sizeable restaurant/bar with reasonable prices and a very welcome terrace. Our room was simply decorated, but spacious with a balcony and facilities were adequate for a short-stay. A buffet breakfast was included with our tariff and, although the selection was fairly limited, it was pleasant to eat outside on the terrace. In summary, an enjoyable experience which I would totally recommend for those intending to visit the Caves. However, it is too far from the main town to be convenient for those primarily intending to visit the beach or the numerous bars, shops and restaurants in the centre.
