I am writing this review whilst sitting in the 4th floor entertainment room. I have a pillow behind my back so I don’t feel the iron bar on the back of the sofa. There is a pleasant roof top patio which we never got to use because of the wind and rain remnants of Helene. In all fairness, we only have familiarity with one of the guest rooms which is The Tamarind on the third floor. The bed was comfortable and the window air conditioner unit worked well although we really only needed it the first night because of the crazy humidity. Otherwise, we were able to open windows. Furnishings were spartan, but the queen bed was comfortable. There was one tiny lamp. The bathroom was very clean, and there was a 6 inch unmarked drop off from the bedroom into the bathroom. We only had to trip twice to remember it. I would suggest a nightlight at the very least. Seating in the bedroom consisted of the queen bed, and a folded up pull out bed which was extremely uncomfortable to sit upon. You could feel the entire frame. I would say the bedroom was good for sleeping as long as you didn’t need the pull-out bed. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to sleep on it, after having sat on it. We stayed for 4 nights and grew very weary of the incessant rain which is not the fault of the hotel. Hotel provides shampoo and conditioner and a small bar of soap. There was also a hair dryer and a small fridge/freezer combo in the room. Breakfast was provided. Food was fine, but after eating it 3 mornings in a row I’ve had enough. “Innkeepers” (hired help) were accommodating. They provide dishes, glasses and flatware should you need them, and there is spa water available at all times. I think there is also a microwave available. The downstairs dining room is cute and there is seating with tables on each of the patios. There was nothing about this particular inn that would draw me back again. But I just love Ocean Grove and the Jersey Shore. ❤️
