Abbazia Country Club

Even though the resort is almost at the middle of nowhere, our family enjoyed the quietness and accessibility to countries like Croatia, Slovenia and Austria as it is near the border. Lenti Thermal Spa is also worth visiting , both for us parents as well as for the kids.

This resort had a beautiful view, and every staff were so kind, so we enjoyed staying here. However, though this resort is for long term stay, when I asked a receptionist, she told us a washing machine is broken. And that was pretty inconvenient.

Very pleasant place with friendly staff, good kitchen and absolutely dog friendly! One more thing is needed, and the place would be five stars, an enclosed dog run (there is already a dog pool!). The place is very quiet, there's a nice cool breeze from the surrounding forest even in July, the rooms are cool and are mosquito safe.

Our trip to Abbazia Country Club was fabulous. It was everything we hoped for. Dogs, horses and beautiful countryside. Easy walk to Slovenia and a short drive to Croatia. The front desk person at all times spoke sufficient English to be helpful. The balance of the staff did not, but they made every effort to communicate and witha great attitude. We were always pleased. The restaurant was delicious. Menus in Hungarian and German. Google Translate helped immensely. The main attraction for us was the horses. The couple who manages the barn both speak English more than functionally. They will take you on trail rides into the forrest and across the border into Slovenia. We also booked a carriage ride. That also was in the woodlands and across the border. The rooms have no A/C, you can rent a fan. In USD it was a negligible cost. Internet was not included but also very inexpensive. They do not have laundry facilities, but you can have clothes washed for a few dollars per 5kg load. The room was spacious the furniture was all solid hard wood. We booked the romo that could accomodate 4 anticipating a folding sofabed in the front room. It was another full bed. Our only leisure seats were hardbacked chairs. I don't like most beds outside of the US, and this was no exception. They were more firm than I would have preferred. The TV had many channels, only two were in English BBC news and Bloomberg. We weren't there for TV so it didn't really make a big difference. We watched some Netflix on our tablet. The internet was more than sufficient to stream. WE WILL BE BACK

Llevo en R.C.I. desde 1990, y jamás he visto un complejo peor que éste de Abbazia Country club de Hungría. Tengo que reconocer que me confundí al elegir este complejo, y he pagado muy caro mi equivocación. El apartamento estaba muy sucio, con muchas avispas y otros insectos. Aunque tenía mosquiteras, algunas estaban rotas, por lo que no podíamos abrir las ventanas e incluso, con estas cerradas, se colaban los insectos sobre todo en el piso de arriba. Ni que decir tiene, que en esta situación no podíamos aguantar el calor teniendo en cuenta que no hay aire acondicionado, y nos alquilaban un ventilador que no funcionaba (parecía una broma de mal gusto). Con el cambio de semana, solo cambiaron las toallas, sin limpiar nada. Aguantamos más porque la primera semana nos fuimos a Budapest, estando en hoteles durante 4 días y la segunda semana estuvimos el Domingo y Lunes en Viena. Al volver, como vimos que todo seguia igual o peor, no hemos podido aguantar más y nos hemos ido del complejo. Era imposible aguantar más. No he visto un personal más desagradable y con menjos ganas de solucionar nada ni de hacerse entender. Ante la casi nula equipación del apartamento, cualquier cosa que pedíamos, teníamos que pagarla aparte. Ha sido una pesadilla.

Meine Frau und ich waren schon bei der Anreise über den sauberen Anblick des gesamten Areals überrascht. Das Einchecken an der Rezeption war problemlos - aber Achtung! Meistens liegt eine Katze auf einem der Sessel vis a vis zur Rezeption. Und wenn Du einen Jagdhund hast, so wie wir, kommt in dem Moment Freude auf :) Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend, es wird neben Ungarisch auch Englisch und Deutsch gesprochen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Frühstück gebucht. Das Zimmer hat leider keine Klimaanlage, da es aber im EG mit altem, dicken Mauerwerk lag, war es immer angenehm kühl im Inneren, trotz Temparaturen von tlw. mehr als 30 Grad draußen. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns auch über die Sauberkeit des Zimmers und des WCs/der Dusche - das haben wir an anderer Stelle schon sehr negativ erleben müssen. Auch der Kühlschrank war absolut sauber und kühlte unsere Getränke und Lebensmittel hervorragend! Das Frühstücksbüffet ist einfach gehalten, aber Du musst nicht Hungern! Besonders aufmerksam empfanden wir den Service, als meine Frau nach glutenfreiem Brot fragte. Auch wenn es nirgends geschrieben steht, das Hotel ist darauf eingerichtet. Jeden Morgen erhielt meine Frau 2 frisch aufgebackene glutenfreie Baguettes - DANKE FÜR DIESEN SUPER SERVICE! Der absolute Knüller (für unseren Hund!) war aber das neu erstellte Hundebecken mit eingezäunter Wiese drum herum. Wäre es nach unserem Hund gegangen, müssten wir den ganzen Tag dort mit ihm verbringen! Er fand das Hundebecken absolut toll!! Wenn Du also einen Hund hast, der Wasser liebt, dann bist Du hier genau richtig aufgehoben. Wir waren auf jeden Fall nicht zum letzten Mal hier!
