La Maison Gustave

A wonderful small B&B in the heart of Narbonne historic Center right next to the cathedral! Our room was decorated nicely, everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast is provided in the room. Cheese, ham and jams and yoghurt etc are in the fridge. Delicious fresh baguette and croissants are delivered in the morning. Our room was facing the street but was surprisingly quiet. As in a typical historic house, there are some stairs to manage but it is well worth the effort. We are especially happy with the service by management after we had made a booking error and they kindly helped us out to correct it.

Beautiful little B&B in the heart of Narbonne - friendly host and traditional French breakfast each day. The place is handy yo all you need to see in this wonderful town. Next door to a fromagerie and across the rue from an old church - Highly recommended.

Lovely place. Great communication before arriving. Our suite was on the top floor, not an issue for us but might be for others. The room was very comfortable, spacious with great linens, towels with excellent restful sleep. The rooms have views to the park and historic buildings opposite. Within walking distance to lovely restaurants, sights, cinema and theatre. The breakfast was perfect with all your needs met and really loved the delivery of fresh bread, homemade jams, cheese etc. This isn’t a hotel but a series of guest suites. We would definitely come back again. Parking close by too.

Great location on a quite side street. On arrival we buzzed and the owner came right away. We were just off a barge in the south of France so we had two large suitcases with handbags. We dragged our bags through the narrow door and looked. up a narrow staircase. Our hostess pointed upwards and I carried the first suitcase up to the first landing. I went back and grabbed the second bag. The first floor had the lobby desk. We checked in and our hostess said our room was on the third floor. I let out a great sigh and took the first suitcase up a narrow winding staircase, hit the second landing and pushed onward like a seaoned traveller to the third floor. The room was large and nice looking out on the beautiful Cathedral. I asked our hostess if I could leave the second bag on the first floor. There was no way I was lugging it up two flights of winding stairs. In the morning there was fresh rolls, and our fridge was stocked with juice, cheese, water and yogurt. I would give this B&B a qualified recommendation, for those who can walk up a lot of stairs and travels light. There is no help from staff or travel assistance as the owner only spoke limited English. The hostess did not offer to get anyone to help with the luggage. When we left the next morning I had to take the luggage back down, quite a challenge and we left. The owner was no where to be found. You get a code to exit and enter the front door.

Alojamiento correcto y recomendable. Ha sido una grata experiencia. Está perfectamente ubicado. Solo tener en cuenta que las escaleras interiores no son aptas para personas con dificultat motora. Desayuno correcto, pero podria variarse si te alojas algunos dias.

In pieno centro storico, con affaccio sul giardino del palazzo degli arcivescovi. L’ingresso è garantito da un codice alfanumerico che viene comunicato telefonicamente ai clienti al loro arrivo (bisogna chiamare la struttura e…. attenzione! si parla solo francese o inglese, NO italiano). L’accesso alle suite è al numero 3, l’ingresso alle camere è al numero 5, di rue Gustave Fabre. In entrambi i casi non c’è ascensore e le scale per accedere alle stanze sono piuttosto strette e ripide. Le camere sono luminose, spaziose, originali, arredate con un certo gusto. Noi siamo stati nella suite “Explorateur” e, in un secondo momento, nella camera “Granier”. Meglio la prima, ma bene anche la seconda. La colazione si fa in stanza con quello che lo staff lascia nel piccolo frigo (prosciutto, formaggio, latte, burro, yogurt ecc.) oltre a quello che lascia per voi presso la reception alle ore 7.30 il panettiere della città (2 croissant e una baguette freschi, croccanti, appena sfornati). Valutazione finale: se fare le scale non è un problema, B&B da massimo dei voti.
