I wanted to share my experience after feeling quite apprehensive due to some of the reviews I’d read before our stay. We booked several months in advance for a 3-night visit to attend the tennis at La Défense Arena. The location is excellent — right next to the station, which connects to the airport with just one transfer. It made getting around incredibly convenient. The room was decent: spacious, with a comfortable bed and a warm shower. Nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate for our needs. It did feel more like a 3 star rather than 4 star but it was ok for a couple of nights. If I were to book again, I’d probably choose the main Mercure Hotel rather than the Residence. That said, our experience was better than many reviews had suggested, or perhaps we just got lucky with our room. You check in at the main hotel (turn left when exiting the station), then walk across the square to reach the Residence entrance (to the right of the station). Thankfully, we went to the main hotel first, which saved us some confusion. I really liked La Défense as a neighborhood. It felt safe, had plenty of dining options, and was pleasant to walk around. We also enjoyed a stroll through the market on Tuesday morning, which is located right outside the hotel.

Worst hotel experience ever at Residence Mercure Paris La Défense Grande Arche. ZERO maintenance – we had to switch 4 rooms and every single one was broken in some way. We were promised a late check-out by Marianna, but once she went on leave, her colleagues flat-out refused to honor it. The reception staff are rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. Phillip in particular mocked us openly, exchanging smirks and eye contact with his colleagues while we raised complaints. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, but it feels more like a rundown hostel with hostile staff. Absolute disgrace – avoid at all costs.

The pictures of this hotel are VERY misleading! Our room was not well kept, bathroom and shower were dirty and moldy, and the carpet smelled of mildew. My wife and I immediately notified the front desk and the response we got was basically "sorry, we have no other rooms...and no refunds." Fortunately for us we booked through ******* and were able to cancel through them (with a partial refund). I'm now in the process of filing a dispute with the credit card company to recover the remaining funds! If you are looking for a proper 4-star hotel in the same area, check out the Hilton Grand Arche. Night and day difference! As for this Mercure hotel...avoid it like The Plague (literally).

I’m disappointed by this hotel majorly.. the photos when booking looked absolutely beautiful and I was looking forward to staying here however upon arrival we found out we were in a building a bit further down the street which wasn’t a problem. We entered the room and the photos are nothing like the actual room. It was clean but was quite dark and dingy there was plaster all over the walls where they had covered holes but not sanded down or painted back over.. again not too much of an issue but definitely what we had expected when booking. I also ended up covered in bites from bed bugs. I returned home today and I’m still covered in them. It is so noisy in the hotel and the streets surrounding during the night, there is no air con so we had to sleep with the windows open which made it even noisier. The walls and beds vibrate from the metro and the lift coming up and down the floors. Definitely wouldn’t be returning.

Dear Accor Customer Service, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent stay at one of your properties, Mercure Paris La Défense Grande Arche, which fell far below the standards I expect from the Mercure brand and the Accor Group. As a regular and loyal guest of Mercure hotels, I was appalled by the experience I encountered during this stay. The air conditioning in my room was not functioning, and when I approached the reception for a solution, I was met not with professionalism or concern, but with rudeness and complete indifference. The only response I received was, "open the window", which is an absolutely unacceptable and dismissive approach to a basic comfort issue in a hotel of this category. This is not just about a technical fault—it’s about poor customer service, lack of empathy, and a complete absence of accountability from your staff. I have come to expect a certain level of hospitality and care when staying at Mercure properties, and this experience was the exact opposite. This incident has left a very negative impression and has made me seriously question whether I should continue choosing Mercure for my travels. I demand an explanation for this lack of service, and more importantly, I expect concrete action to be taken. At the very least, I request appropriate compensation for the discomfort and disrespect I experienced. I trust you will treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and respond promptly. Travelled to Paris with a friend as they had never been. Booked this property through Accor All. Excellent location in Nanterre, 8m from Etoile and other important locations. We arrived early Friday morning, and Wendy immediately checked us in to leave luggage etc etc. The room was well furnished on the 7th floor. The decor is fine and my bed very VERY comfortable. **I have already rebooked for August 2025. All in all, a brilliant visit. A very special mention to Mathilde, who is an asset to the hotel for all the emails and help prior to my arrival. Thank you team and A Biēntot Greg P

We stayed in La Defense before, and figured this would be similar. It was ok, the location is a bit out of the way. The room was ok for 2, but there was 4 of us, made it a bit crowded. We probably won't book here again, but Paris is still a wonderful city to see!

The hotel is located in Paris business district with surprisingly very low traffic. The environment was very pleasant and public transport access is amazing. A bus stop in front of the hotel and a metro just 50m away. The hotel is surrounded by small restaurants, a supermarket and once a week there is a market selling cheap stuff like clothes, shoes, gadgets, fruits, food, etc. The room is sufficient but the housekeeper only clean the room every 3 days (we stayed 4 days). Breakfast was good with the standard western selections. We come back when we visit Paris again in the future.

The location is fine and the staff are pleasant and professional, but they are left down by the condition of the rooms. Discoloured, tired carpets in the rooms along with old and dated bathrooms. Rust discolouration was around the showers.

Please be careful when making reservations and staying at the hotel. They are absolute liars and make false promises. The services are pretty bad in general and the check in and customer service is pathetic. Also please do check the room rates on other websites since the rates on their website is the highest and it takes lot of exchange of mails to convince them and get the refund.

A hotel where you can enjoy every metro passing underneath, including a room shaking (i was in 304). Ridiculously loud. Breakfast mediocre and not ready in time, be prepared to face closed breakfast room doors, no croissants/pain au raissin because they forgot to bake them, and cold scrambled eggs. Staff was not receptive to complaints and started talking French with eachother not knowing I understand French perfectly as well............you should never ever start lying to your customers......Never ever again as this lousy experience came at a significant pricetag. Not worth the money at all, being there for business purposes a good quality sleep is paramount, and believe me, this hotel guarantees extremely poor sleep and mediocre breakfast. 2/10 score (and I have seen some hotels all over the world)
