First what it's not :) Two things I always want in a hotel: good showers and well-placed desks and plug points at the bed and desk (my pet hate is having to move furniture around in search of plug points, and no USB ports etc). Safari Park hotel has neither... But I would still go there ahead of modern, business oriented hotels because of the beautiful grounds to walk in, the balconies for peace, the opportunity for recovery in-between work, the fact that there is a 'recreational' pool as well as a proper pool for swimming. A few tips: the pool rules are no swimming before 9 am, but ASK and explain that you want to swim before work; the Italian restaurant is hidden away but lovely; definitely walk the 2 km signposted route; ASK if there are events on during your stay, and make sure you have a room away from the event venues which can be noisy (but nothing that ear-plugs can't deal with).
