Il-Bàrraġ Farmhouse B&B - Traditional

We have loved our stay at this beautiful farmhouse. You will feel like you have stepped back in time with the rich history and aesthetics that surround you. This property has been in their family for hundreds of years and is now lovings restored to its original charm. We extended our stay for 3 days because we knew nothing else could compare!

I would recommend Il-Bàrraġ to anyone looking for a home away from home kind of stay on the island of Gozo. Staying here has been like stepping back in time. The hosts are a lovely couple who take so much pride & joy in creating a beautiful stay in their restored farmhouse with their guests. Every morning we started the day with a handcrafted breakfast of true Maltese flavour, while sitting in the shaded courtyard. See photo two for example. The hosts have a lot of knowledge to share about the house, dating back nearly four centuries, and the 7 years it took them to restore the family property. We loved staying here so much we extended our stay by 3 days and are glad by it. ＜3

Beautifully appointed with lots of charm and history. Rodrick is a wonderful host and provides a delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Very helpful with our needs. It’s located in a lovely little village with excellent restaurants close by.

A beautifully restored farmhouse filled with wonderful art and decor. Our hosts Roderick and Angelo were very warm and welcoming . The local breakfasts were delicious and filling with even chocolate ice cream available for those with a sweet tooth. Would definitely recommend if you are after a quiet relaxed atmosphere.

First word “WOW”. This place has a unique experience to offer. Built 400 yrs ago & some part 200 yrs ago u already know that there is a lot of amazing story behind the house. No wonder the interior is jay dropping. Apart from the very old house every decor you see inside are so old & has a story to tell. Such a great privilege to experience the comfort living in a house dated 400/200 yrs old. The room is cozy and pretty. And mind you, the cleanliness is immaculate. No dust, the bathroom is sparkling to water marks. The cleanest accommodation I have stayed so far. Honestly the cleanliness is so much better compare to high end 5 stars hotels. So if you are in Malta and decided to visit Gozo this place is a unique, relaxing, quiet & peaceful place to stay. And the breakfast…wow something unique as well. Staying with Rodrick at his fabulous B&B was the highlight of our trip to Malta. Not only are each of the rooms (we stayed in 3) unique, charming and comfortable, breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. We loved being off the tourist track in a real village and hearing Rodrick's stories of the building's history and renewal. We enjoyed our walks to the beach, our cappuccinos in the town square, a lovely afternoon soaking up the sun in the courtyard and the dinner recommendation to Osteria Scottadito, which was fabulous. Thank you Rodrick!
