Waterwoods Lodge Kabini

We visited Waterwoods Kabini last week for 3 nights. We stayed in superior king room the verandah of which was just few meters away from the river. The property is small which makes it easy to navigate. The rooms, food, service met expectations. The chef provided us with hot phulkas. We are a senior citizen couple and I am recovering from knee surgery. The staff took exceptional care of us. They accompanied and helped me to board the boat and jeep safaris. They arranged for me to sit in the front of the jeep so that it was less bumpy. One of the staff accompanied us to our room with torch post dinner. The gardener showed us around their orchards and greenhouse from where part of their fruits and vegetables are sourced. We are immensely touched by the warmth and care shown by the staff.

Spent one night with family in October 2024. The location is amazing, right on the banks of Kabini backwaters. Pros 1. Beautiful location 2. Spacious Room with an additional bed, there was a lot of space in the room 3. Spacious bathroom and balcony 4. Very courteous staff Cons 1. Very basic food spread (BF, Lunch and dinner) 2. Bathroom needs a facelift as the tiles have wornout, the white goods have developed cracks 3. Swimming pool is small and not well maintained. Water looked dirty 4. The indoor gaming room is very small, equipments are old and worn out As we had booked during holiday session and last minute, ended up paying a premium and felt it was definitely NOT value for money. If one can get a bargained price at 20% lesser, it is fine.

The resort was so peaceful and serene. It faced the river and was within the forest. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were supportive and were able to accommodate for any needs. Devraj, the tour guide was very helpful and got us a tour in the morning for the safari. We were able to see Indian gour, wild dogs, and a big cat.
